Dunes Escape - Minutes from Indiana Dunes National Park
Stay at Dunes Escape! This newly renovated 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom home comfortably sleeps 6 and is professionally staged and designed for short-term rental guests. Extend your stay and enjoy your “work at home” space! We offer full access to the home and backyard, where you will find a patio, charcoal grill, and a large fire pit area for you to gather.
Nestled in a quiet neighborhood a few minutes from the Indiana Dunes National Park, Dunes Escape will offer the getaway you have been looking for. This home is in close proximity to the Indiana Dunes National Park, Lake Michigan beach access, Ogden Dunes, Chesterton National Park, Hard Rock Casino, Michigan City Zoo, Purdue Hammond Campus, Ivy tech, and is only 60 minutes from Downtown Chicago!
HOUSE RULES:
CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT & HOUSE CARE - Checkin time 4:00pm - Check out time 10:00am - Please put all dirty dishes in the dishwasher and start it before leaving - Move all furniture and items back to their original locations - Set the thermostat to 77F - Check all doors and windows to be sure that they are locked. - Leave the beds unmade. No need to strip them - Empty all the trash - If you are staying with us on a Monday please bring the trash can to the curb for garbage day pick up and back to the side of the house when picked up - Treating our home with care and respect will ensure a quality place for our next guest. Thank you in advance for your thoughtfulness and consideration.
SMOKING - We do not allow smoking of any kind within the house.
PETS - No pets are allowed on the premises.
PARTIES - No parties are allowed inside or outside of the home. - No use of drugs allowed
UNREGISTERED GUESTS - Please tell us how many guests you plan to invite to the house when you complete your booking.
OUTDOOR RULES - Never leave outdoor fires unattended or without adult supervision - Grilling must be done 8 feet away from the house - Garbage must be taken out and put in the trash can on the side of the house at the end of your stay - No use of fireworks is allowed on the property
NOISE - We ask that you be respectful of our neighbors and we ask that you observe quiet hours starting at 10pm
HAVE FUN! - Unplug, have fun and make memories MINIMUM AGE We require at least one person over the age of 21 to reserve. Guests found breaking this condition will be required to leave the property, and no refund will be given.
NO SMOKING, PETS, FIREARMS, OR ILLEGAL/ILLICIT ACTIVITY The house is non-smoking, and NO SMOKE is allowed on the property. If you smoke, we request that you do so outside. If you smoke inside the property, you will be CHARGED $450.00 to have the house shampooed and deodorized.
PETS are NOT permitted on the property. If a pet is discovered on the property, a $450.00 CHARGE will be issued to cover the professional cleaning cost for all carpets and upholstery. You will be asked to leave the property, forfeiting your stay and any payments or deposits made.
We will not tolerate ILLEGAL or ILLICIT ACTIVITY. Guests will be evicted from the home, forfeiting all booking payments and deposits. We will prosecute necessary, illegal, or illicit activities to the fullest extent of the local area, state, and federal governing law.
GRILL BBQ The Property Owners do not accept any responsibility or liability for any injury caused by the use of the grill. Guests are specifically requested not to allow unsupervised children to use the grill. Local laws apply. Guests are required to clean the grill after use. Otherwise, a cleaning fee will be applied.
CONSUMABLE ITEMS In making your reservation, you understand that your vacation will be self-catering. We DO NOT provide consumable items. We provide one roll of toilet tissue per bathroom at the beginning of your vacation. We will not renew these items.
CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT CHECK-IN TIME IS AFTER 3:00 PM ON THE FIRST DAY & CHECK-OUT TIME IS BEFORE 10:00 AM LAST DAY. Any changes to the time made without a prior arrangement with the homeowner, including early occupancy or late departure from the home, will be subject to ONE EXTRA DAY'S RENTAL, which will be deducted from the security deposit. Early check-in or late check-out is NOT guaranteed, and a fee may be applicable.
OCCUPANCY ANY UNAUTHORIZED OCCUPANCY BY PERSONS NOT LISTED WILL BE SUBJECT TO LOSS OF SECURITY DEPOSIT AND THE IMMEDIATE TERMINATION OF THE RENTAL AGREEMENT AND EVICTION. PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE PROPERTY. ANY ADDITIONAL EXCEPTIONS MUST BE ARRANGED PRIOR TO ARRIVAL. Please note that the police have the power to spot-check homes at any time for infringement. In the event of higher occupancy than that permitted, you will be required to vacate the property immediately. If this occurs, there can be no refund of the rental payment and any deposit paid will be forfeited. Guests are asked to keep the number of vehicles limited to the minimum parking spaces available per home (3 spaces). Parking in the grass/yards and on the street is prohibited and vehicles may be towed. NO RVs, TRAILERS OR BUS ARE AUTHORIZED. If this occurs, guests will be responsible of any penalty/fine enforced by local authorities.
DAMAGE TO HOME All home items belong to the property owner and CAN NOT be removed, or we will charge a replacement charge. The Security Deposit does not relieve the Guest of liability for damages exceeding the security deposit amount. In the event of any dispute relating to damage to the Premises, the parties agree that said dispute will be resolved in the appropriate state court having jurisdiction in Gary, IN and the prevailing party shall be awarded its reasonable attorney's fees and costs against the non-prevailing party both at the trial and appellate level.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY Property owners do not accept any responsibility or liability for any equipment failure and service in the house, regardless of how it may have occurred. However, the guests should, in the event of a problem, inform our local management company that will endeavor to do everything within reason to rectify the situation. Property owners do not accept any responsibility or liability for any lost or misplaced personal property guests might have left on the property. NEITHER STAY HAVEN NOR THE OWNERS WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE TO YOU OR ANY OTHER PERSON FOR: (I) ANY ACCIDENTS, INJURIES OR ILLNESS THAT OCCURS WHILE ON THE PREMISES; (II) THE LOSS OF PERSONAL BELONGINGS OR VALUABLES; OR (III) ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES FOR ANY MATTER ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THIS AGREEMENT. BY ENTERING INTO THIS AGREEMENT, IT IS AGREED THAT YOU AND ALL GUESTS ARE EXPRESSLY ASSUMING THE RISK OF ANY HARM ARISING FROM THEIR USE OF THE PREMISES.
CLEANING While guests are not expected to clean the property, it is a condition of your reservation that you agree to leave the property to a tidy and acceptable standard. An unacceptable standard is defined as leaving the home measurably different from check-in. This includes, but is not limited to, moving furniture, leaving behind numerous quantities of personnel possessions or trash, or not cleaning up vomit or other bodily fluids. Suppose a house sustains damage and is not left to an acceptable standard upon check-out, including the carpet stains, as defined by the management company. In that case, the guests are legally responsible for reimbursing the management company/owner for the expense of rectifying the problems. It is a term and condition of your reservation that you agree to the payment upon request.
INSECTS Insects and small creatures are inevitable and are not a cause for complaint. Their presence is no reflection of the cleanliness of the property. The home is treated regularly as part of pest and termite control. PLEASE KEEP ALL EXTERNAL DOORS CLOSED whenever possible; not only will this help keep bugs and small creatures from the property, but it will also enable the air conditioning/heating unit to function more efficiently.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS We will not be liable for any loss or delay occasioned by any of the following: strikes, riots, political unrest, war or the threat of war, terrorist activities, industrial disputes, fire, flood, weather, technical/weather problems to transport, aircraft, closure of airports, or any other event beyond the owner's control.
RESPONSIBLE PARTY The person who makes the reservation and whose name is on the confirmation documents is the lead name (Party Leader). The lead name must travel with the group. The lead name is solely responsible for the reservation. This includes but is not limited to responsibility for damage to homes and making payments at check-in and payments for deposits. We will only take instructions relating to the reservation from the lead name. Please note that the lead name will be responsible for compensation for damage if damage happens by the lead or other members during the stay. The lead name will also be responsible for the cost of other extra services requested.
MAINTENANCE ISSUES Your pleasure is our priority. Our property might encounter unexpected maintenance problems similar to other houses. If a problem happens during your stay, we will do everything within our powers to fix the problem within twenty-four hours of it being reported. It is a term of your reservation that you accept things go wrong and cannot always be resolved during your stay or within 24 hours. If this should happen, refunds will only be given at the discretion of the Property Management company. The ONLY EXCEPTION is if the air conditioning fails or there is a power outage. However, refunds will only be applicable if the power outage was the Property Management Company's or Homeowner's fault and not a problem with the utility provider.
GOVERNING LAW; VENUE This agreement is governed by the laws of the state where the property is located, excluding its conflict-of-law principles.
