This bright, comfortable townhome in the funky little beach town of Miller Beach, Gary, Indiana sits just minutes from Indiana Dunes National Park. It's 45 minutes from downtown Chicago on the South Shore Line, but feels like a real getaway.

The home sleeps five to six guests across two stories. King bedroom downstairs opens right onto a private deck. Upstairs you've got the master bedroom, a full kitchen, and a convertible futon for extra sleeping. Smart thermostat, WiFi, Roku streaming, and keyless entry are all included.

THE SPACE

A bright, well-maintained 2-story townhome that works well for families and small groups.

First Floor: King bedroom with sliding glass door to a private deck. Twin trundle bed for extra sleeping. One-car garage for storage.

Second Floor: Open living area with living room, dining space, and full kitchen. Master bedroom with ensuite bathroom (jetted tub). Convertible futon for additional sleeping or seating. Balcony off the living area.

Total Sleeping Capacity: King bed + twin trundle + futon = 5-6 guests.

Key Features: Washer/dryer, Roku TVs with streaming, keyless smart lock, Ecobee thermostat, WiFi, children's dinnerware. Fireplace available November through April.

Beach Gear: Garage is stocked with wagon, chairs, towels, umbrella, cooler, and sand toys.

GUEST ACCESS

Full access to the entire home: both bedrooms, living areas, kitchen, bathrooms, and garage. Help yourself to the beach gear in the garage—that's what it's there for. Roku TVs, WiFi, and smart thermostat are all yours to use.

THINGS TO NOTE

Parking: You have exclusive use of one enclosed garage and two driveway spots. Please note: there is no street parking available. Use the garage and driveway only.

Fireplace: Available for use November through April only.

Grilling/BBQ: No grilling or outdoor cooking on the premises. The deck and balcony are for relaxation and dining.

Beach Etiquette: Please carry out all beach trash and follow "leave no trace" principles.

Security: External security cameras monitor the property exterior for guest and home safety. The alarm system provides door and window announcements only.

Quiet Hours: 10 PM to 8 AM. Please keep noise at a considerate level.

Smoking: No smoking or vaping inside the home or on decks and balconies.

Events: This is a personal residence rental, not a venue. No parties or events are permitted.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Miller Beach is a funky little beach town—artsy, unpretentious, and walkable. Lake Street has galleries, artist studios, and good food and coffee. 18th Street Brewery, The Beach Cafe (lake perch since the 1930s), Flamingo Pizza (since 1941), Clutch bagels, Vibrations Juice Bar, and Tiny's Coffee Bar are all nearby.

Indiana Dunes National Park is right here—the Paul H. Douglas Center is five minutes away. The Calumet Trail is a paved biking path through the national park connecting beaches, trailheads, and neighboring towns. In winter, the park's trails are great for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Marquette Park has Lake Michigan beach access with lifeguards in summer.

GETTING AROUND

A car is recommended to fully explore the area. You have three parking spaces (one garage, two driveway). Biking is a fantastic way to explore—the Calumet Trail is a paved multi-use path through Indiana Dunes National Park connecting beaches, trailheads, and nearby towns. Bring your bikes or rent locally; the garage has room for storage.

The South Shore Line gets you to downtown Chicago in 30-45 minutes—easy day trip without dealing with city parking. Distances from the property: Chicago (45 min), Michigan City (20 min), Valparaiso (25 min), New Buffalo, MI (40 min), Paul H. Douglas Visitor Center (5 min). Miller Beach's galleries, restaurants, and beach access are walkable from the home.
