Definitely some issues with this property, but in the end, being ON the beach in Galveston is a rare thing and most of the negatives we saw can be overlooked just to be on the beach. 1) the front door had a code lock that had serious issues. We're three functioning adults with this type of lock in our own homes, but we just couldn't get this door unlocked multiple times. It's no fun standing outside your condo having to call the third party support. On the bright side, the support line managed to get us in every time. The downside was we spent way too much time standing outside the condo trying to get in.2) speaking of being locked out, there is also a code to access the complex from the beach, and we were given the wrong code, apparently for the prior month. Other residents gave us the correct code.3) construction noise--yes, we were warned about the high rise being built next door, but the most disruptive noise came from the complex itself, pretty much continuously throughout the day (but not at night).4) speaking of at night... the entire complex fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, and the residents had to notify the guard. Other residents said this had happened before.5) parts of the condo were updated, but other parts were the original 70's vibe. Some of the updates were done poorly, like the nice new bathroom mirror installed right on top of the old icky mirror that was still visible. With mismatched lightbulbs above...
