Oceanside Tiny House in Beautiful Frisco

An Oceanside tiny house in placid Frisco. Just a short walk to the beach down serene residential road. Once a glassblowing studio, the house was completely remodeled in March 2020. A new, clean, functional, special, space.

Quite spacious for a "tiny house", the high ceilings and many windows make relaxing a joy. And the outside brick deck and yard space are great for enjoying Hatteras Island's wild serenity.

  • "Yin and Yang" I was at Cape Hatteras last month to try and capture a sight of one of our heavenly visitors in the night sky - Comet Catalina. The comet is somewhat unique since this would be it's only ever visit to the inner Solar System before being ejected to interstellar space forever. It was by no means an easy target to locate and photograph in the night sky especially for someone who's never done that before. But this is not about my attempts at capturing Comet Catalina (although I did manage to view and capture it). After I was done looking at the comet, I settled by the beach next to this pier, one of my favorite places on the North Carolina Outerbanks, to hear the ocean's mesmerizing soundtrack. I still had about 2 hours to go before sunrise and so I was just sitting and enjoying the unseasonably warm winter in December and just looking at the stars, Venus, Jupiter and Mars in the night sky. I suddenly noticed this big cloud about 5 minutes in streaking just below bright Venus. On a hunch, I decided to capture an image to see what the cloud looked like and a short 15 second later, I saw the start of what turned out to be one of the most perfect sunrises I have borne witness to. The cloud had started to just pick up the first rays from the sun, with about an hour and a half to go before sunrise. I love the juxtaposition of every single element in this image. The fading of the night sky and stars with Venus shining valiantly as the sun comes back to herald the start of another day, the stretch of unbroken cloud over the hurricane damaged pier and the sheer beauty created in an otherwise damaging act of Mother Nature (the hurricane, not the sunrise :) ). This duality is what inspired the title of the image. If you're near the NC coast, this location is a must stop. It is close to the town of Buxton and the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. Edge of the Earth

My wife and I rented this cozy tiny house a stones throw from the ocean and cape in beautiful, picturesque Frisco on Hatteras island for her birthday. The house has all the amenities one would need for a brief stay, but the real gem is it's location. Three minutes on foot, and you're over the dune and face to face with the Atlantic Ocean, with miles of beach, turtle nesting grounds, seashells galore, and the most magnificent sunrise you've ever seen. Oh yeah, the house was cute, the shower had great water pressure, the bed was comfy, and the TV and Internet worked without issue, but is that really why you're here?

A Hidden Gem

Rory has been the most wonderful host. My first time ever booking a VRBO and had so many stupid questions that Rory had taken the time to answer each one for me.As for the house I could not dream of a better place. The location is perfect and sits in a quiet neighborhood. Beach is a 3 to 5 minute walk straight through this beautiful neighborhood. The house is small but offers everything you need to enjoy your vacation. Dishes,soap, linen, hot plate, coffee maker, microwave, and a small refrigerator/freezer are all here. Great cold A/C as well. Also a shared beautiful hot tub is available after a long day at the beach. The house is charming and well decorated. If you are looking for a quiet place without a lot of tourist trap locations then this is your dream house. My wife and I celebrated and appreciated all of its charm. We definitely plan on making this a yearly spot to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you again for everything!

Beach Access!!

I would absolutely rent here again. Beach access was top notch. There was a lil confusion during checkin but it was partly my fault. I would recommend changing the door code on one of the units so this issue doesn’t happen again. I accidentally stayed in the wrong unit thinking it was correct bc the code unlocked the door. I sent a message to the host but didn’t receive a response until after I had already left. I’m actually glad I stayed in the wrong unit as it had a really cool patio with a hammock and dog bed for my Goldie. This gentleman owns 2 tiny houses that are situated next door to each other and a hot tub on site for both to share. I loved my stay here and there are no hard feelings. The owner made contact with me and apologized profusely and even refunded a portion of the fee due to him not seeing my messages soon enough. Bless him for that as I know this was partly my fault. I had a great time regardless. Cheers!

This Tiny House has all you expect a rental house to have. But just enough for 4. Each room had all the amenities needed in addition to the great A/C and picture windows. The outside shower is well thought out. The 5 minute walk to beach is easy. Looking forward to staying again. Wish it was closer to my home.

Laborless Weekend!

My husband and I came out To the tiny house in Frisco for a long Labor Day weekend. We were very pleasantly surprised with how spacious the “tiny” house was and everything we needed was there too. We loved it and will be back in years to come!

So disappointed!

The property was dirty; the bedding appeared to have not been washed (it smelled),;the couch cover smelled & was dirty; the dishes had cockroach droppings in them & had to be washed before use; the cockroaches were HUGE 😳; the heating/air conditioning unit did not work; the hot plate did not work; there were light bulbs missing over the sink. We left 2 days early because of the nastiness of the property. The owner refunded us one night.

Loved it!

Awesome little house within walking distance of the beach. Short drive to restaurants and gas stations. Great little place to hang out after you’ve been out on the beach all day. Will definitely stay here again.
