Hidden Gem! Great views, fireplace, stars & nature

Escape to this wonderful retreat with views of meadows, ocean & redwoods. Cozy stone-hearth fireplace provides an invitation for conversations deep into the night. Vintage daybed surrounded by the views provides a great place for reading & sipping tea. Big deck & sunroom. A cathedral ceiling & open floor plan gives a sense of space & relief, yet still provides visual privacy. Night sky is super dark, great for stars. Special “stargazing room” w/ large skylight. Horse experiences available.
The space
On many nights the sound of the ocean is a wonderful lullaby, complemented at times by distant frog song. The spring mornings are awash with birdsong. Watching the Wild Turkey or Blacktail Deer come out in the meadow is a sweet experience.

Downstairs, on the backside of the fireplace, is the king bed. There is an upstairs area with a queen bed, desk, chairs, and half bath. There is also a loft with single bed accessed by the captain's ladder, and the stargazing room beyond that. There are additional foldout beds that can be put on the floor and in the stargazing room to make it a king sized sleeping space. The captain's ladder and loft is not intended for children due to the nature of the ladder. Studio floorplan, so none of the rooms close off with walls and door.

We offer "Mindscape exploration with horses" experiences here (airbnb . com experience # 3624145) and if it is booked for the time you want, just ask us with as much notice as possible to see if an appointment for you can be added to the schedule.

We live on the adjacent 2 acre parcel. You can see our house on one of the photos. We also have an office and apartment above the separated two car garage across the driveway. This means we give you the space you want, and are very responsive hosts when you want us. It also means this is not the place to rent for a party or for more people than you sign up for. Not that you would do that though, just others of course. ;)
Guest access
There is parking for 2 vehicles, unless prior arrangements are made. The rental is on a 2 acre wooded parcel that you can explore, (just don't go through closed gates on our adjacent 2 acre parcel) and the stroll up and down the driveway is great.
Other things to note
Also, there is little cell phone coverage here. Sometimes text messages work. If this is an issue for you, most cell phone plans now allow "wi-fi" calling so you can use the wi-fi. Ask your carrier if you are not sure if you have this option.

Feel free to play ping-pong on the deck or lawn, or ask us to put the table away if it is out and you won't be using it. If it is on the lawn and you want it on the deck, just ask and we'll move it there!
