« It was ok but it's extremely remote and I had trouble getting rides to the city when I needed it. They were good to me. English was a little limited, but we managed. Townspeople aren't supportive or nice. The room was fine, but the only way I could get meals was to order from Walmart/spark in another city, which was pricey. « I love staying at the Iowa House when I visit my son at Iowa State. It is very close to campus, definitely within walking distance. The rooms are always clean and cool. The dining room always has something to eat at all hours. Breakfast in the mornings are always good. I even got a text asking if I would be eating breakfast. The staff are great and very accommodating. When I go to Ames, this is the first place I look to stay. »
