    Welcome to Koselig Cottage, hosted by Simple Life Rentals! Our charming 2-bedroom, 1-bath cottage in Ellison Bay is the perfect cozy retreat for up to 6 guests. This home is completely remodeled, showcasing its hand-built, log cabin charm. Nestled on five luscious acres, it offers a serene escape while being conveniently close to Sister Bay and Ellison Bay.



    The Space:

    The cottage is bathed in sunlight during the day, providing a warm and cheerful ambiance. As the evening sets in, indulge in fireside conversations outside for some mesmerizing stargazing.



    This property allows up to 2 well-behaved dogs, with an additional fee collected at booking.

    This home is located in a quiet community with neighbors and is geared towards quiet family vacations. Due to the proximity of neighbors and municipal restrictions, we cannot accommodate parties at the property including bachelor or bachelorette parties, reunions, weddings, or other gatherings.



    Property is equipped with a decibel and smoking monitoring sensor located inside and outside of the home.





    Please be aware that you must sign a terms and conditions agreement, which will be sent to you separately, to finalize your reservation.



    Getting Around:

    You'll be only half a mile away from the bay and Ellison Bay Public Beach, where you can soak up the sun and enjoy the refreshing waters. Additionally, Lake Michigan is just a short two-mile drive away, offering more opportunities for lakeside adventures. Including close proximity to Newport State Park!



    Other Things to Note:

    Amenity + damage protection waiver includes:

    - Bed linens, pillows, blankets, and bathroom towels. (Please bring your own beach towels)

    - A starter pack of essentials which includes toilet paper, paper towel, dish soap, dishwasher soap, hand soap, and garbage bags. Due to septic systems, we do not provide facial tissue. One each of travel size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash per full bathroom.

    - PEACE OF MIND Damage protection covers up to $1000 per stay for accidental damage that is reported prior to departure (excludes any pet damage).

Such a cute cottage outside the main touristy spots of Door County allowing for a more secluded and quiet experience! Wish we could’ve stayed longer to spend more time there relaxing.

Absolutely charming cottage! The attention to detail with the decor was perfect. All the necessities were included, both inside and outside, for a perfect stay. We look forward to returning for another visit.

The house is lovely - nicely decorated, has enough space for 4-5 people. We enjoyed using the record player and playing the different board games stocked at the house. Lots of space outside with a nice fire pit.

We were lucky to find this wonderful cottage during our stay in Door County. Well taken care of, comfortable, comfy beds, fantastic bathrooms and very quiet. Strongly recommend!

A nice isolated cottage in door county but close to Sister Bay. Plenty of space to hang out inside with a firepit and cornhole outside as well.

Great ladies trip!

This cute cottage was a great place to stay when wanting to be close to Sister Bay and explore all it has to offer. We had access to great shops and restaurants and enjoyed the cute living areas inside and outside the cottage to gather with friends! Great memories were made! Made for an amazing 50th birthday weekend with friends!

Great home off the beaten path

Went to Sister Bay for Fall Festival. We LOVED this little house. It was perfect for our group. The kitchen had all the utensils we needed. The fireplace added a nice torch for chilly fall nights & the fire pit & grill were perfect for s’mores and steaks. The home was very clean and the beds were comfy. We would definitely stay again. Thank you!

The Koeselig cottage is adorable! We have stayed in mulitple VRBO's and AIRBNB's over the years and while we loved our stay at this cottage in Ellison Bay, I think that the rental company could have done a better job at several things:1. The listing description should say that you are going to drive about a 1/4 mile on a long, bumpy dirt road to get to the property.2. No kitchen towels were provided, no Kleenex was provided and only two very small 1/2 rolls of toilet paper were provided (not even a full roll for a multiple night stay).3. The remote control did not work, thus no tv. We contacted the rental company and they suggested that we replace the batteries. It was a rechargeable remote. They should have a checklist for each property to know this and be certain that the remote is charged.4. The floors and fridge are noisy. 5. Food from the previous renters was left in the fridge and we were told that we should dispose of the items. If the previous renter forgot to dispose of their food items, then the cleaning company should dispose of such items. The cleaning fee is large for VRBO stays. At every other up north vacation property we have stayed at (managed by a rental company) they had a complimentary bag of coffee and bottle of wine. This had neither. They offered one sample size coffee, which will last one day. At this price, I would expect a bit more.

Koselig Cottage was perfect!

From check in to check out this cottage was perfect for our stay. Everything was spotlessly clean, comfortable and exactly as pictured. The owners restored this gem to a beautiful modern cottage with all the amenities you will need for your stay. There were just two of us but it would be great for a small family as well. The location is off the beaten path (away from the heart of town) but nothing is too far away to enjoy making the short drive relaxing and enjoyable especially with the lovely fall colors which grew more spectacular each day. The owners have clearly invented some heart and soul in this property and it shows-they even include some before pics in a little book of the cottage history which was fun to learn about. Thank you for sharing your wonderful cottage with us and making our first trip to Door County so enjoyable! Oh we also tried several of your dining recommendations which were spot on so thanks for the hints. We hope to be back again and if your home is available, we would certainly stay there again.
