Welcome to Shawnee Pines Retreat — a private Southern Illinois escape where the days end in the hot tub and the nights are spent under the stars. Tucked into peaceful countryside near the Shawnee National Forest, this 1-bedroom, 1-bath retreat sleeps up to 4 and was designed for couples, small families and anyone craving a few quiet days away. Sleeping arrangements: The private bedroom has one king bed for two guests. Guests 3–4 sleep on the oversized sectional in the living room; it is not a pullout sofa. Please book only if this sleeping setup suits your group.



Outside is where Shawnee Pines really shines. Soak in your private hot tub overlooking the countryside, warm up in the private barrel sauna, then gather around the fire pit beneath glowing string lights as the sun disappears behind the trees. With wide-open views and dark country skies, evenings here are part of the experience. Inside, you'll find a beautifully updated retreat with an oversized sectional, Smart TV, Wi-Fi, fully equipped kitchen, dining area, comfortable bedroom and full bathroom. It's cozy without feeling cramped and thoughtfully stocked so you can actually settle in. When adventure calls, you're perfectly positioned for exploring the Shawnee National Forest and some of Southern Illinois' most incredible scenery, including Garden of the Gods. Hike all day, come home for a sauna, pour a drink and climb into the hot tub. Come for the Shawnee. Stay for the hot tub. Leave wondering why you didn't book another night.



Good to know: No pets allowed. Check-in is after 4 PM and checkout is by 10 AM. A personal vehicle is needed to explore the area, and cell service can vary on rural roads. Detailed arrival instructions are provided before your stay. The neighboring field is for views only; please stay within the designated guest areas and do not cross the barbed-wire fence.
