Welcome to the Jungle Surf!

You’ll pause before you even open the door and take in the sound of the crashing waves and refreshment of the sea breeze from the front porch. When you do head inside, you’ll notice the huge vaulted ceilings and professionally curated jungle surf décor. The open floor plan boasts plenty of space for socializing spilling both inside and out through the numerous French doors connecting the screened-in porch and other balcony and catwalk porches overlooking your personal nature preserve. Open those doors to let that refreshing sea breeze join you on your fabulous stay before you even drop your bags. The living space is decadently designed around the abundant natural light and natural flow of the marsh views so you’ll feel connected with nature even from the comforts of the inside. Comforts of the inside include a smart streaming television with all of your favorite apps ready for login, huge designer ceiling fan for those summer beach days, and enough cozy reading and relaxation nooks to accommodate your entire party.

In the kitchen, the views of the countless billowing palmetto fronds and live oaks make every meal prep a pleasure. You’ll stay connected with the sunshine and socializing with the easily accessible dry bar and side-porch. The numerous song birds right outside the kitchen windows will keep you entertained as you wait on that fresh coffee to brew or next round of drinks to blend. You will want to grab your first cup of coffee in time to decide whether to watch the Atlantic sunrise from the comforts of the kitchen island, front porch rockers, or outdoor dining space. The outdoor grill and oyster space is quintessential lowcountry with the fire tower nestled under a live oak and the scenic marsh in the background. Feel free to stretch out as the villa sits on over an acre.

BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS:

The huge master suite is just a casual art-walk stroll down the hall from the main living area and is also connected to the Carolina room via a catwalk porch and grand French doors. Relax and reflect on the beauty of life as you enjoy breakfast in bed while overlooking over 700 feet of open marsh and tidal creeks without another home in view. The master suite includes a private master bath including a shower and soak tub overlooking yet another vista of open tidal marsh and creek landscape. Light some candles, pour a glass of wine, and let your worries and beach salt melt away while watching the herons and ibis’ fish the sunset.

The secondary suites both boast queen-size beds and abundant natural light with eastern facing views. They overlook tidal marsh on the leeward side of Scotts Creek flowing directly out to the Jeremy Inlet and the Atlantic Ocean. The secondary bathroom is accessed off the hallway and includes a shower and tub combination.

OUTDOOR:

Last but certainly not least: You’ll likely spend as much time as possible reveling in the porch views and engaging the outdoor spaces both day and night. Float out to the beach and Jeremy inlet via deep water access on the street for kayaks or paddleboards or at the boat ramp for larger vessels.


While you’re at the house, here are abundant elevated porches hosting both all-day sunning opportunities as well as covered shade to include the luxurious screened-in Carolina room. The fire tower offers a distinctive gathering and cooking opportunity to enjoy the marsh views and wildlife up-close; especially the flocks of blue birds that often arrive late each afternoon. Culminate your seafood culinary with steamed oysters on the outdoor oyster table and included steaming ensemble and shuckers. The “drive under” garage space under the home is spacious and easily accommodates a trailered boat with T-top and any other outdoor toys you bring to the party. Be sure and look-up before heading inside for a charming finale of some of the best star-gazing in the lowcountry.

*Please note the property is situated close to water to include both tidal creeks and the ocean. Please ensure your party is comfortable with swimming and any recreational water activities you plan to engage in or this property may not be a good fit for your needs.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire property and gated community to include the private boat ramp and other numerous opportunities for launching small watercraft and accessing the ocean. The beachscape at nearby Botany Bay is world famous and images of its “boneyard beach” are featured at nearly every Charleston and lowcountry art gallery.
Other things to note
Please remember this is a home; not a hotel. The house is stocked with supplies as advertised but if you anticipate spending substantial time at the house or staying for several days, you will need to bring supplies the same as any vacation rental.

The host is available for issues as needed and 100% committed to your party enjoying a 5-star experience but if you are accustomed to a hotel concierge-style culture responding to cursory impulsive needs, this property may not be a good fit for you.

The property includes a dedicated office nook for the remote worker or artist seeking to balance vacation with work time. This space has direct access to the catwalk porch and is fantastic for taking conference calls in the sunshine with a scenic backdrop while maintaining quick and easy access to your laptop.

Please note the property has good wifi connectivity for a remote resort-style area but speeds are variable. This may be slower than preferred for remote working setups if you require heavy software or other atypically large files and are accustomed to commercial speed internet. Normal internet connectivity and communications typically work great unless multiple guests are attempting to stream numerous devices concurrently. Edisto as a region does experience outright disruptions to internet service. We have a back-up hotspot installed to provide redundancy in the event the hard connection goes out but we cannot guarantee internet connectivity or speed given the remote area.

PETS: We love and welcome well-behaved pets and want the furry-members of your party to enjoy Jungle Surf too. Please note to offset the additional cleaning required from pet visits there is a flat $200 pet fee charged through for stays of 2 nights or less. For longer stays, the pet fee is $50/animal per night charged separately and the $200 is credited towards this amount. More information is available in the guidebook regarding our pet policy but guests with pets will not be allowed to check in for longer stays without paying the pet fee.
