Cette maison de vacances de la rĂ©gion d'Édimbourg a Ă©tĂ© construite en tant que nouvelle aile autonome de Rathan House (1852). SituĂ© dans la zone de conservation feuillue de Eskbank haut de gamme, il dispose de 2 portes-fenĂȘtres du salon Ă  une pelouse de croquet partagĂ©e et au jardin paisible entourĂ© de sud.
Stationnement hors rue. 2 trÚs bons restaurants et un pub agréable à moins de 200 mÚtres.

Excellent parc d'Edimbourg et retraite avec bus tous les 10 minutes et trains toutes les demi-heures au centre d'Edimbourg. Édimbourg, les Lothians et les frontiĂšres ont trop d'attractions touristiques pour citer tout, les propriĂ©taires peuvent aider Ă  concevoir des journĂ©es sur mesure - Eg Hogwarts Alnwick, Holy Isle et Hadrians Wall; Traquair, Bowhill et Abbotsford; HĂȘtres du Nord Berwick Seabird Center et Museum of Flight.

Édimbourg parle d'elle-mĂȘme, mais notez que cette location de vacances Dalkeith se trouve Ă  5 kilomĂštres de la chapelle Roslin. À 1 km de la ferme Butterfly et Dobbies .. et Ă  800 mĂštres du palais Dalkeith.

We enjoyed our stay at the Dalkeith, Eskbank, UK Vacation Rental. It was conveniently located to shopping, transportation, and Edinburgh. It was easy to get around and we weren't stuck in the busy center of Edinburgh.

Our stay at the Ratham Guest House was wonderful! The home was outfitted with everything we needed for our 21-day stay. We were warmly welcomed by Irene and Ewan who were kind and gracious hosts. Ewan gave us great pointers on where to go and what to see during our stay. The kitchen is nicely appointed which we appreciated because we did a great deal of cooking. Another bonus was the washer and dryer which allowed us to minimize our packing for the journey. The home is lovely, very clean, roomy, and pleasant on all accounts. The 4 bathrooms were great and would definitely make for an easy stay for a larger group. The town of Dalkeith has many nice places to grab a meal or tea. (Lavender Coffee & Crumbs quickly became our favorite spot to go for tea and a snack. The Turkish breakfast was delicious!)Morrison’s grocery is only a 5-minute walk from the house. There is bus service to anywhere we wanted to go with stops just steps from the house. (Note: Although the house is on a busy street, we heard very little traffic noise from inside the home.)Overall, our stay was everything we’d hoped for; a lovely home, well equipped kitchen, with friendly and helpful hosts on site. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it highly.

My wife and I and our 3 older kids loved staying here. The place is very nice and the 3 separate showers were really helpful. It’s close to a bus stop that we used to head into Edinburgh each day. We would absolutely stay here again.

Our family of 5 adults had a lovely stay at the Rathan house
it’s so quaint with a pretty view of the garden from the living room which we enjoyed every morning with our coffee
the place comes completely prepared and organized and clean
the bus stop for Edinburgh is conveniently located right outside

The guest house was exceptionally comfortable and well suited for my stay of 7 days (and would have been well suited for any length of time). The kitchen had everything I would have hoped for as far as being able to prepare my own meals. Dalkeith and environs have lovely parks and I thoroughly enjoyed the discoveries I made of wooded walks and history. I wondered if I would regret not renting a car. In fact, I was easily able to get everywhere I wanted by foot, bus, or train. A comfortable double-decker bus to Edinburgh is literally 2 minutes from the property. I gladly spent time at The Fringe festival in Edinburgh and at the Dalkeith retreat. The hosts are lovely people and made excellent suggestions for activities in Edinburgh and in the towns surrounding Dalkeith. I hope to return someday to stay once more at this wonderful place.

What a great place for our family! Beautiful garden (complete with 2 sweet dogs) that offered a very pleasant respite after a day of sightseeing. The accommodations were perfect with ample space and comfort. The location was ideal for bus service to the city center, Rosslyn Chapel, and the beach. And, a good grocery with easy walking distance. Irene's place was perfect for my Aunt and I. We enjoy the comforts of a home when we travel and that's exactly what we got at Irene's. Plus the bus was just outside the door making the trips into Edinburgh so easy. The walk to downtown Dalkeith and restaurants was less than 10 minutes. The hosts were very helpful in directing us into their place with the unintended late arrival and in arranging a taxi for our trip to the airport. I only regret that I didn't have time to enjoy the beautiful garden. If you want all the amenities, plenty of space, easy access, parking, beautiful surroundings all at a great value this is the place to stay.

Wanted a few days to relax prior to a 10 day tour of Scotland. The Holiday house was perfect for two couples. Fantastic communication with owners and comfortable home. Well appointed notched and near bus stops. East bus access to Roslyn chapel as well as many other places to vist. We liked that we could feel safe walking to the stores and restaurants. Große Ferienwohnung und freundlicher Empfang. Sehr sauber und in gutem Zustand. Wir haben wunderbar geschlafen. Busstation nach Edinburgh Innenstadt nur wenige Schritte entfernt (alle 12 Minuten, 30 Minuten Fahrtzeit), ebenso Supermarkt und Restaurants. Wir wĂŒrden jederzeit wieder buchen.

We had so much fun in Scotland. Our host lived on the property and so was there to answer questions, let us in and was there if we had any questions. We met our hosts several times out in the garden as we were unwinding from our day. The site was very close to the train station, there were several stores to get groceries and we were very close to Roslin Chapel. We also drove to Stirling one day. Our rooms were comfortable and we each had our own shower. Plenty of room for the three in our party. Thank you so much for all your help. Our hosts were good communicators and they even called me before we left to speak with us about our trip. You can trust this one with your stay.

Had a great stay at Eskbank - very clean property that has an amazing kitchen for cooking. The property is very close to the town of Dalkeith, which has great food options and many great places to walk a dog. The house is within steps of a bus stop that will take you into the city center relatively quickly. The hosts were wonderful at offering ideas on places to sight see. Highly recommended if you want to stay a bit outside of the city.

My husband and I, along with my elderly Scottish mother were fortunate to be guests at the self catering 2 bedroom annexe unit at the Rathan Guesthouse during our three month visit to Scotland, spanning over Christmas and New Year. This beautiful, charming home was a prime location for us, within close proximity to our family and friends. Together with the hospitable and friendly hosts, Ewan & Irene, the Rathan House and property offers a great central location, secure parking, gated access to the annexed unit, a beautifully landscaped back garden, with clotheslines, and Flora, their friendly family dog. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, & cookware. The location is also excellent for easy access to parks, buses, shopping, restaurants and pubs, all within walking distance. Everything one could ask for, especially for an extended stay. Our hosts, Ewan and Irene were most welcoming to us upon arrival, providing a full tour of the property inside and out, and expectations needed for a 3 month stay. Both our hosts were so friendly and accommodating to us throughout our stay. My son and his partner made an unplanned visit from Canada during our stay, and they were wonderfully accommodated with a room in the B&B Guesthouse. Ewan is very knowledgeable about the area, and gave us recommendations on nearby places of interest to visit. He kept us entertained with his many historical facts and adventure stories. Irene checked in with us regularly to ensure we were comfortable, warm and had everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and meeting our gracious hosts. We are looking forward to our next visit. Thank you Ewan and Irene, we are pleased to have met you both and we appreciate you hosting us in your beautiful home.
