« Absolutely stunning cottage set in the most beautiful location right on the sea. Property is finished to the highest quality and standard and has everything you could need when staying in a rental. Alan and Ann were wonderful hosts providing lots of local information. The cottage is in a great location with lots of places to visit within a short drive. The outlook from the windows is beautiful- lots of local wildlife can be seen. Very pet friendly. Would highly recommend. »

« A fantastic cosy retreat in the heart of wonderful Millport. Just a short stroll from the water, the fabulous restaurants and the ever welcoming bars. The house is super comfy and very spacious for two people. The log burner, complete with a plentiful supply of firewood , was such a joy to come back to after a brisk november cycle round this fantastic island. An escape indeed, highly recommended. »

« Really sweet little cottage in a quiet little spot within the grounds of the owners house. Extremely dog friendly which was perfect for us as we took 3!Immaculately clean with everything you need. Loved the log burner which made it very cosy. The island itself is small but has a fair few places to eat/drink and a short ferry crossing to Largs which was easy but a little pricey. Overall we loved our trip and would definitely recommend. »

The cottage itself is very charming and supremely cozy (if you can accept interior design that not bothered in the slightest by the dernier cri); the vast Carmichael property, on which it is located, with its paddocks, forests, mystical ruins and a dog cemetery holds enough beauty and enough secrets to uncover for weeks, and everyone we came in contact with was very friendly. Highly recommended, hope to be coming back at some point. »

« Warm and cozy sleeping with the shutters and curtains drawn. Respect the house, switch on the pump if you light the fire, and yes I loved the wood smoke smells, it is mostly round the fire, if the fire is only embers you can switch off the pump, it's circulating the hot water from the fire, I was able to see local interests and the wonderful fresh air, excellent countryside. The ruin of Carmicheal House makes me wonder at its one time beauty, and it's just a short walk to from the cottage,...

« We spent a lovely spring week surrounded by daffodils and rolling Ayrshire hills. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable with space for nine at wauchope cottage, which is part of the old stable/coach house. The staff were polite and the apartment was dog friendly as long as you can keep your dog in the kitchen or hall until it dries off as the livingroom and upstairs bedrooms have light coloured carpets.
