Inside, the property has been finished to a high standard throughout. The king bedroom is light and calm, dressed in crisp white linen with teal accents and warm bedside lighting. The second bedroom has two single beds.

The open-plan kitchen and dining area is fully equipped for home cooking, with a dining table for four. The comfortable living room has a large smart TV with Netflix, perfect for unwinding after a day outdoors.

Step outside and you're moments from the Deerness Valley Railway Path, one of County Durham's most loved walking and cycling routes.
This former Victorian coal line, now fully reclaimed by nature, winds 8.5 miles through farmland, ancient woodland and herb-rich meadows alongside the River Deerness. Keep your eyes peeled for herons, woodpeckers and roe deer — sightings are common, especially in the quieter early morning hours.
In spring and summer the path bursts into colour with bluebells, wild garlic and red campion beneath mature oak, holly and hazel.

The historic village of Brancepeth — with its medieval castle and estate parkland — is close by, and Durham City itself is only a 15-minute drive, making this an ideal base whether you're here for nature, history or simply a change of pace.

IMPORTANT: On behalf of our host at Pass the Keys, we require guest verification facilitated by Truvi (Previously called Superhog). Upon confirming your booking, Truvi will contact the lead booker via a secure link, providing detailed instructions for the verification process.

The online verification requires a government-issued photo ID and a credit or debit card. During this process, you may choose between a refundable GBP 500 deposit (plus GBP 10 transaction fee currency equivalent) or purchase a non-refundable damage waiver of GBP 40 (currency equivalent) to cover potential damages during your stay.

Once the verification process is successfully completed, check-in information will be provided. If you opted in for a deposit, this will be refunded via credit/debit card after your stay, subject to an inspection of the property.
