Very comfortable house in a quiet, convenient location. we loved the well-equipped kitchen and the proximity to walking trails and the farm stand. This was a great place for our family of 6 to stay for a nearby wedding.
Lovely restored antique farmhouse with super chill vibe, just a short walk up past the blueberry bushes from the Market & Cafe at Emery Farm that you can look over and beyond to Wagon Hill Farm across the road. Spacious and fully equipped kitchen with a fantastic island for prep, cooking or just sitting and having a cup of coffee, plus a full dining room and comfortable living room. Upstairs the beds were cozy. The master bathroom had an amazing soaking tub, plus a walk-in shower. Three full baths total made it easy for all 6 of us to get ready for a wedding in South Portsmouth
This destination was quite a treat. The house was beautiful and well kept. The location couldnât have been any better from the Whittemore center at UNH. There are gas stations and grocery stores nearby along with some cool fishing spots. David was a great responsive host. I would book this place again! (I probably will)
My husband and I with our grown children had a wedding in a nearby town in Maine. This was a beautiful cozy house to spend time together without the disconnection of hotel rooms. We walked to the lovely store down the hill for coffee and breakfast sandwiches and spent time in nearby Portsmouth. I would absolutely stay here again
The property was just as pictured. Welcoming and comfortable. We were attending a family wedding nearby and it was just what we needed for our 6 adults and 2 year old . Nice yard for toddler to run around and the walk down to the farm stand nextdoor was easy and fun with the chickens and goats and play tractor to drive. Our host called the evening we checked in to make sure it went smoothly and to let him know if we needed anything. Everything was perfect. Would highly recommend. Thanks again!
Beautiful property, perfect location (especially in the fall!), house was exactly as described and had everything we needed for an ideal, comfortable, relaxing girls reunion weekend.
Wonderful stay in Durham , NH. Gorgeous country setting with access to Durham and Portsmouth . Great coffee and sundries at the Emery Farm Stand. David, the host, was gracious and helpful. We canât wait to go back for another stay!
Stayed with 4 friends and enjoyed the beautiful home, incredible tub, and lovely market right at our fingertips. Scenery was gorgeous and enjoyed walking the trails across the street each morning.
We had a great stay at this property. It is very accurately described with photos on the VRBO site. It was convenient to Portsmouth and Durham. The house was comfortable for our family of 4 adults and 2 children. Very nicely appointed and equipped for our stay. The house has everything needed and more, The property is on a hill with nice views and walking distance to the Emery Farm Stand, a must go to. David was easy to communicate with and answer any of our questions. You cannot go wrong with this property if you are in the Portsmouth/Durham area.
We were three couples staying for the weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The property sits on a large farm that is fascinating to explore. The Market, within walking distance on the property, is a great place for coffee, and breakfast fare. The host is very gracious, and makes you feel very much at home. We hope to return again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property! Everything was as described and our host, David, was delightful. The attention to detail exceeded our expectations - from the charming decor (love the crystals hanging in the kitchen windows!) to cozy blankets in the tv room to the thoughtfully provided toiletries. Our accommodations were top notch! Thank you, David!
My husband and I, both in our 80s, have mobility issues, and renting a place where all of the bedrooms were upstairs seemed impractical. But we were so glad we listened to our hearts and chose this place.
The entire property is beautiful and well-tended. The air is fresh and clean; the water tastes great right out of the tap. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch watching honey bees gathering pollen from the rhododendrons growing by the front porch.
This family has maximized the assets of their farm and created a heathful, environmentally sustainable operation. Solar panels dot the property, and there is a EV charging station at the house. The cafe on the property serves delicious breakfast sandwiches and sells products made in the area.
The host sent us detailed information about the property well in advance of our stay. He called us the day of our arrival to welcome us and ask if we needed anything. We knew he would help us any way he could.
Our party consisted of my husband and I and our two adult daughters. All of us loved being in the farmhouse.
And the stairs? Thereâs a good solid handrail, which all of us held onto, and we took the stairs one at a time. Iâm so glad we did not let our fears from experiencing this farm. We had a wonderful stay.
The Emery Farmhouse was beautiful and completely updated. We enjoyed the short walk to the Emery farm stand where we were able to by grocery staples and delicious ready made sandwiches. David was an absolutely wonderful host.
Property manager, very hard to get a hold of considering he was out of state. But overall, housing was nice and provided all appliances our family of 6 needed.
We were a family of 6 (3 generations) staying the weekend for a wedding nearby. House was very comfortable and clean and was only a short 10 minute drive to the wedding venue. The market down the hill at the farm was a great spot for breakfast and coffee in the morning. House was well equipped - particularly the kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Perfect location to visit our two kiddos who attend UNH. The house is an easy 5 minute drive to campus, and super close to Newmarket, Dover and Portsmouth. Plenty of activities and amazing food nearby. The farmhouse is in a beautiful and peaceful setting and the interior is thoughtfully and meticulously decorated. As an artist I especially loved the eclectic collection of art and handmade pottery. The kitchen had every amenity and although we didnât cook during this trip would have had everything we needed. Three full baths is a lovely perk. Every one was spotless and heated floors in NH in February was a super nice touch. The beds were all really comfy and bedding and towels were soft and high quality. You can tell the owners put a lot of thought and love into the property and the cleaning crew keeps this place impeccably clean. The owner David is super responsive and helpful and answered all of our questions very quickly. We canât wait to stay here again during the warmer months to take advantage of the nearby outdoor activities. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!
