Bopping back and forth from the beach has never been easier! Take the Yeti, grab some chairs, and hit the beach across the street!

The DougOut is located in the picturesque town of Douglas. Sister town to Saugatuck, Douglas is a laid-back—yet high-class—travel destination, known for its world-renowned art galleries. Douglas is quiet enough to sit outside and hear nothing but the breeze and the birds chirping, yet vibrant enough to offer food, drinks, and entertainment that would suit a city many times its size. Locally owned businesses line the streets of downtown, and if you manage to exhaust Downtown Douglas—which you may not—Downtown Saugatuck is less than five minutes away by car or easily available on foot or by bicycle.

After you’ve sampled the local food and drinks—many grown right here in this top-producing agricultural region—and shopped at our many independent boutiques, head out into Pure Michigan natural beauty at our gorgeous beaches, trails, and state parks. Nearby Oval Beach was ranked by Conde Nast Traveler as one of the top 25 best shorelines on the entire planet! Rent a watercraft or take a dip in sparkling, immaculate Lake Michigan, then climb our mountainous sand dunes to shady wooded trails.

This is Pure Michigan living at its finest! This brand-new home sits 100 feet from the beach yet is within minutes of Downtown Saugatuck & Douglas. The location is ideal. Sleep up to 10 of your favorites in this airy and spacious home packed with luxury amenities. The main level has the perfect entertaining setup with multiple comfy seating areas, a large dining table with wrap-around seating that opens into the chef's kitchen with island seating and a beautiful fireplace. An incredible rec room, featuring a pool table/ping pong table, sits just off this space, making it fun to bop from one room to the next or provide a separate hangout for the kids. Fun and games will lead to many happy memories you will treasure forever! Have a glass of wine by the fireplace, charcuterie in the kitchen, board games in the sitting room — the whole group can enjoy this level of the home simultaneously.  Spread out even further into the peaceful backyard with stately shade trees and a partial view of our beautiful Lake Michigan! Hear the waves crash along the shoreline and enjoy a crisp evening breeze while you dine al fresco on the well-appointed back patio.

The upper level boasts an inviting king bedroom with an open concept en suite bath with a rain shower and free-standing tub. You will find luxurious shower products from Sachajuan and Michigan-made artisanal soap and bath salts from SoapShed. Pour yourself a cup of our special Art Coast Properties Coffee Blend from Uncommon Roasters and have a seat on the balcony off the primary suite to soak up the sun before making the 30-second walk to the beach! Another spacious king bedroom sits on this floor, along with 2 cozy "bunk" rooms. An expansive bonus room with a large sectional and television are also on this level, allowing your group to split up into their own spaces if needed.

The DougOut is mere steps from Downtown Douglas and a short drive from Saugatuck, Fennville, many beaches, and various wineries/breweries. Don't feel like driving? No problem there! The Saugatuck Township Interurban Transit Authority offers pick-ups and drop-offs for only $1 each way to anywhere in Saugatuck Township. Simply call in the moment or ahead and reserve a time and pick-up/drop-off location and your chariot awaits!

Want to venture out into the rest of Michigan's Art Coast? Downtown South Haven and Holland are only a 20-minute drive away and offer a whole different vibe filled with other activities to explore!

We love our pets! We invite you to bring up to 2 doggies.
Our Pet Fee is $145 and will include a Pet Basket for you to use during your stay: Food and Water Bowls, Waste Bags, Lavender Pet Shampoo, Pet Stain Remover, Puppy Towel, and a little Treat :) Woof Woof!
