Welcome to Knotty Pines, where you can chase powder at dawn, soak up last light on the lake, and sit fireside way past bedtime. Bordering Tamarack Resort (with nearby trail access) and a short stroll to Lake Cascade, this 3 bedroom + loft, 2.5 bath modern cabin (max 8 guests) is your unapologetically nature-forward basecamp. Supremely modern inside, all about the outdoors outside. Big days, slow nights, room for all the toys, and no resort markup.
You'll be adjacent to Tamarack Resort, a four-season destination 90 miles north of Boise; it's the perfect basecamp for your west central Idaho adventures, located between the recreation opportunities in Cascade and McCall or those further afield. Nestled on 3,500 acres with 2,800 feet of vertical and adjacent to Lake Cascade, it offers year-round recreation, including some of the best skiing and snowboarding in Idaho, Nordic and snowshoe trails, hiking, downhill and cross country mountain biking, zipline tours, whitewater rafting, motorized and non-motorized water sports, and the award-winning Osprey Meadows Golf Course. Tamarack also offers a host of on-site dining and leisure activities, to include a spa, pickleball courts, and disc golf course. Be sure to check their schedule for hosted events and activities.
You'll have the entire home to yourself.
Guests do not have access to the detached garage, or the bonus room above the attached garage (both are locked). There are three locked owner closets in the home (closet in primary bedroom, closet in the living room, hallway closet in loft).
• Tamarack Trail/Ski Access •
Knotty Pines is NOT a true ski in/out property, but for those who don't mind a little trekking it's definitely possible to get to the Tamarack Express chairlift from the home, making it a great option for those who want to avoid the parking lot hustle. Tamarack Resort's Buttercup Trail is about 1/4 mile from the property, and can be accessed from the neighboring streets. Tamarack Express chairlift can then be reached from a groomed trail--it's about another 1/2 mile mostly downhill hike/push (3/4 mile total from Tamarack Shack). Depending on snowpack you may have to snowshoe. A more detailed description can be found in the Digital Guidebook upon booking.
This is not your grandma’s cabin. Clean lines, huge windows, concrete counters, and a nearly full wraparound deck meet pine ceilings, stone fireplace, and star-filled skies. Built for skiers, riders, boaters, bikers, and families/friends who want to go hard outside, chill hard at home, and still sleep really well.
WHY THIS BASECAMP HITS DIFFERENT
• Nature first: floor-to-ceiling east-facing windows, vaulted pine ceilings, trees in every view
• Modern mountain design—zero chaos, all comfort
• True indoor/outdoor living: dual-sided wood-burning fireplace + nearly full wraparound deck for coffee, beers, and stargazing
• Private 4-person hot tub for post-ski, post-ride, or post-lake recovery
• Charcoal grill (you bring the charcoal; we bring the mountain air)
• Toy-ready: wraparound driveway, 2-car attached garage, RV electrical hookup, and room for boats, sleds, trailers, UTVs
• Tamarack & Lake Cascade access without resort pricing: close to lifts and lake, with way more space to breathe (Poison Creek boat launch + multiple lake access points: within a 5-minute drive)

RECOMMENDATIONS:
*If you're flying into Boise International Airport, we recommend renting a vehicle directly from the airport.
*It's possible to get an Uber from Boise/BOI to Donnelly, although it's not necessarily a reliable mode of travel; depending on your arrival time and season, you may have difficulty finding a driver who will accept your ride. Uber is not currently accepting advance reservations for trips to Donnelly from Boise; on-demand rides will be your only option.
*If you're traveling in winter or you plan to enjoy the many off-roading adventures available in Valley County, we HIGHLY recommend a 4WD vehicle.

SUMMER CONSTRUCTION NOTICE
Our mountain town has a short summer season, which means a compressed window for construction. New homes and road work happen quickly between June and September. While we update listings when we're aware of neighboring projects, we don't always have advance notice. We have no control over neighboring sites or noise, and unfortunately cannot provide refunds due to construction. That said, we're always here—reach out with questions, concerns, or noise complaints and we'll do what we can to help.

CANCELLATION POLICY
We don't make exceptions to the cancellation policy agreed to at booking—this maintains fairness for all guests. Please review your reservation's cancellation terms carefully before finalizing. Please note all refunds (other than stays booked on Airbnb) will be less any credit card processing fees. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance for peace of mind.
