The homeowner is trying to sell their property, and it shows. The home is sparsely appointed with low quality furniture and equipment, and the home is definitely showing it's wear. The house didn't seem like it was cleaned thoroughly, and the washing machine smells like mildew, which transferred to the bedding. I think the sheets gave one of my kids a rash. The main AC is nonfunctional, and so the homeowner did a patchwork fix by putting a window mounted backup AC unit that is ineffective for the home's footprint. Not an issue if you're not staying during the hot summer.Property management sent us the check-in instructions after our check-in time, and they're barely responsive. It caused a whole snafu with VRBO. Don't try calling property management, you won't get ahold of them. You have to send text messages. The representative we finally got ahold of, and worked with, was very helpful and pleasant, but it doesn't make up for the absolutely terrible system in place.Otherwise, the neighborhood is wonderful, and it's a fantastic location; obviously the reason as to why the property values in the surrounding location are priced like Manhattan penthouses. Nearly everything you'd want to do on the North end of the city is within 10 minutes of drive time.Overall, for the price we paid for this rental, we did not get the quality that we expected. I'd highly recommend spending your money elsewhere. If the home is even available - after all, it is for sale.
