St. Barbora's Church, Kutná Hora, Czech republic

The Roman Catholic Cathedral dedicated to Saint Barbora is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995.

It was built in Kutná Hora town in Central Bohemia during the days when it was the most important silver mining place in Czech kingdom. The building began in 1388 and it was finished in 1558 when the mining ceased to be profitable.

Actually it was not initiated by any church institution but it was a representative chappel building sponsored by wealthy towns men and dedicated to patron saint of miners, the saint Barbara.

In 17th century it has received Baroque elements and from 1884 to 1905 its current Neogothic puristic appearance including the western facade and three tent-like roofs.

« Wir waren mit 18 Personen in dem Haus. Der Pool war das Highlight für die Kinder, jedoch führt der Pool im Untergeschoss auch zu Erlebnisbad- Flair im gesamten Haus hinsichtlich Geruch und Geräuschkulisse. Die Nähe zu Prag macht den Standort interessant, in unmittelbarer Umgebung und Laufreichweite ist jedoch eher Ruhe und keine direkten Wanderwege. Wir hatten in dem Haus genug Platz und eine tolle Zeit mit Freunden. »

« We (4 people) stayed in the house for 4 nights. Unfortunately the tablecloth got dirty and one wine glass broke. I immediately confirmed to pay for that of course. But what happened with the hottube was just making money from guests. We had to pay XXX€ on top afterwards because the pool was completely dirty, etc. (That's what the landlord said). "L'accueil est minimale à la réception. Chambre petite sans air climatisé. Lits jumeaux trop étroits. Par contre le service à la terrasse est exemplaire et la nourriture y est très bonne. L'endroit de l'hôtel est facile pour la marche"
