« We went for a 3 day weekend to run a trail race in Grayson Highlands state park. The house was a 30 minute drive from the park. Beautiful drive to the house and the park. We enjoyed resting at the house before and after our time at the park. The house was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The property was lovely and we enjoyed walking the property and sitting outside reading. »

« Yes, it was a little out of the ordinary, but that's a good thing! Easiest "camping" experience you'll ever have. Your own private (new, flush) commode, kitchen, and huge shower! A/c and heat in the camper. What more could you want? Definitely an adventure in the hills of eastern Virginia. »

« The perfect river cottage for three couples. Super clean with all of the needed amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed the large fire pit, pavilion area, ping pong table and the flat river frontage. We did two canoe trips launching from Baywood and Riverside. Can’t wait to come back for another adventure. »

The host was prompt with details and answering any questions we had prior to arriving. « We found this townhome to be very rustic on the outside but very modern and updated inside. When we built our house we had parquet floors throughout and Berber carpet just like the bedrooms in the townhouse so we especially loved it! The stairs were a bit much for both of us due to knee injuries but we managed. A railing going downstairs would have been a huge help. It would be nice if the dumpsters were closer by the unit. « More difficult to get to since hwy. 58 closed at Damascus. Pretty drive taking the long way. Too bad the Virginia creeper trail closed, I was able to go down until the first washed out bridge at green cove. Enjoyed the quiet stay. »

« Nice quiet place. Bed was very comfortable. We stayed for an entire week and could have used a few more bath and hand towels. We are building a small cabin in Independence and we were very happy to return each evening to the comfortable cabin. Thank you. »

« Beautiful property. Farmhouse reminded me of my grandparents 1890's farmhouse. I enjoyed the historical, mountainous feel of the home and location. It is nice staying at a location that isn't the cookie cutter style that has become the norm. »
