« My friends and I came away very pleased with our no-frills wilderness camping on Rod's property. He has the best view of the Huron Mtns I've seen, with a better perspective on the south faces than Pt Abbaye. They really lit up in the sun with peak color all over. We also loved his sweet dog Max, who quickly pivoted from intimidating bark at strangers to "dare you to try to take my stick" playfulness in seconds.I would go back in a heartbeat, but I did take off 1 star for listing accuracy only...

« Everything was great, the toilet needs to be replaced...if youre a male over 6' like me, youre squatting low to sit, and your junk goes straight into the water...not very pleasant lol...other than that, it was amazing. »

« Found these cottages by chance & we’re so grateful. It seemed that EVERY other place was booked; required multiple night stays, or would not allow pets. Our request was granted promptly thru VRBO, as usual. Admittedly, it was strange not having a hotel clerk to admit us, but we were used to it w VRBO. « We had an excellent stay here while in the area for a wedding! The house had everything that we needed plus some! Close to everything, views of the bay, etc. be aware of over night parking rules in the winter (on road). »

« Great communication by owner. We enjoyed our stay in this spacious rustic house laid out so everyone has some space to spread out. Very secluded. Wonderful snowy weekend. Easy access to Houghton. We felt relaxed after splitting some wood and spending some time in the sauna, complete with running barefoot into the snow. Would recommend this listing to others!! »

« This lovely clean cabin sits on a piece of property surrounded by a river that lulls you to sleep at night if you sleep with the windows open. It was spotless and had all the amenities of home. The owner responded extremely prompt and was instrumental in suggesting nearby sights to see.
