The check in process took well over 30 minutes despite no one being in line in front of us when we arrived. We arrived to the hotel around 6 pm and our room still wasn’t ready so we had to wait in the lobby for another 10-15 minutes after the desk agent found my reservation in the system. I was nearly charged $589 for one night stay and when I questioned it, the front desk agent told me I had booked for three nights, even though my receipt from the original booking was only for one night. It just all seemed so odd and inconvenient for no reason. After driving and working all day, the last thing you want is to have to wait so long (and nearly get overcharged) to simply get into the room you booked. I was never offered anything as compensation for the inconvenience, and honestly I feel like something as simple as comping my parking would have made up greatly for the check-in issues, but again, I was offered nothing.
The room was very nice and the staff were very friendly, I just wasn’t happy with the inconvenient check in process. How can I book a reservation for one night on my end, but then the hotel system shows a reservation for three nights? it just seemed so odd and I wonder if Vib Best Western was hoping I wouldn’t notice or question it… while I hope it was just a bug in the system, still for a hotel that nice, I would expect their reservation system to be more user friendly for guests and staff.
