I wanted to love this property. It’s beautifully remodeled inside. Clean and quiet. I have caveats though. From the beginning, I didn’t get any communication leading up to leaving for our stay until I contacted them 24 hours before our stay. And even then, was told that they would give check in particulars 30 minutes prior. Not great for a planner like me. The check in info gave specific instructions as to how and where to park once you’re on the property. They wanted us to park our full size truck in a tiny little area to the right of the driveway. That wasn’t possible so I messaged the property management and asked if we could park towards the back of the driveway instead. Their response very clearly indicated they had probably never even seen the driveway, let alone the property itself, because they sent back some pat answer saying we weren’t allowed to park on the road, which had nothing to do with my original question. Once in the house, we got situated and realized that the “vintage charm” that is cultivated throughout extended to the very old windows upstairs. Windows that have torn or missing screens and are screen less and don’t even close all the way, in the master bedroom. We weren’t expecting to have to figure out how to keep the great outdoors
.outdoors. Finally, the morning of checkout, the wi-fi had been turned off long before we were required to be out, which was our only way to be contacted, as the home is so remote there’s no cell service. We’re bummed.

We arrived luckily in the daylight. The driveway is so steep and narrow our full sized truck barely fit and nowhere to turn around. We had to shovel the steps ourselves as they are steep and go down to get into property. Covered in snow and ice. Upon entering went upstairs to discover Master bed unmade, dirty towels in pile in bathroom, hair and soap in sink, kitchen trash filled, crumbs on floor and stove and downstairs room and bath exactly same condition..used and unclean. Called Manager..gave me attitude that they wouldn’t refund money because VRBO had to do so. Spent over an hour on phone demanding full refund. VRBO guy very helpful and he ended up calling this “Effortless Management” company and insisting they refund. Finally got an ok. Had to book a hotel for our 4 day stay on a Fri evening and finally left relocking the door to the dirty property. Got the money back but did not get the 89.00 for “damage” coverage I always purchase. Expected an immediate apology and offer for full refund..not excuses, snippy attitude and stall tactics. The inside of this place, even if cleaned was fair at best. Very stripped down and not cozy. Have stayed at much better in Pine and will again. That property was booked. A VERY UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE.
