2 Bed in Llanystumdwy (oc-g38228)

  • Drive over the historic river bridge to this peaceful spot in Llanystumdwy village, which is located on the Wales coastal path. Enjoy scenic riverside and woodland walks from the doorstep of this gorgeous cottage with an enclosed garden. Spend your days down on sandy Criccieth Beach (1.5 miles), or head to town for its landmark 13th-century castle, cafes and shops. Explore Morfa Bychan, the wonderful rivers of Afon Glaslyn and Afon Dwyfor, and the rugged hill, Moel y Gest, all within 7 miles. Other nearby rural walks include Ynysypandy Slate Mill, Llyn Hafod-y-Llyn and Craig Cwm Silyn, all within 10 miles. Porthmadog boasts a range of shops, a magnificent harbour, the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway, and eateries, while the charming Italianate village of Portmeirion is only 9 miles away. A little further afield is the remarkable Snowdonia National Park mountain range (18 miles). This is an all-year-round destination for family, friends and the dog.

Step inside this gorgeous cottage with exposed beams, a feature fireplace and stylish furnishings that combine to create a beautiful and welcoming retreat. After a full day out, the lounge is the perfect place to unwind each evening with comfortable sofas, a wood burner, and a Smart TV. The kitchen is a light and airy space with all the equipment you need to rustle up a meal, with local produce purchased on your visit to the town. When the culinary delights are ready, gather at the dining table to savour the meal and enjoy the view over the garden – maybe let the outside in and open the French doors onto the patio to listen to birdsong. When you’re ready to retire, head upstairs and choose from two spacious bedrooms: the king-size or the zip-and-link twin (which can be made up as a super-king-size at the time of booking). Both have been designed with your comfort in mind for a good night's sleep. The modern shower room is spacious with a large shower cubicle, perfect for a leisurely start to the day.

Accessed via the kitchen, the enclosed garden is the ideal place to sit and relax. The table and chairs are perfect for alfresco dining and sundowners on summer evenings with feature lighting to extend your time outside. Roadside parking for two cars is provided.
