Villa calme et élégante à 10 minutes de Cortona, idéale pour les familles et les gastronomes

Élégance, style, espace et confort dans cette villa de luxe indépendante, idéale pour la famille, les amis voyageant ensemble ou les gourmands.

Fontanella était la grange de il Molino di Bordone quand elle était encore une ferme. "Molino" signifie moulin en italien. Il produisait de la farine avec les puits de pierre que vous pouvez encore voir à la propriété.

2 chambres joliment décorées avec des portes-fenêtres, chacune avec sa propre salle de bain en marbre.

Grande cuisine de campagne entièrement équipée avec armoires de fabrication locale, surfaces en granit, lave-vaisselle et lave-linge; salle à manger intérieure pour accueillir 12 personnes. Il a été spécialement conçu pour les cours de cuisine. Si vous souhaitez ajouter à votre séjour une expérience de cuisine toscane, n'hésitez pas à nous contacter pour plus de détails.

Très grand salon pouvant accueillir 8 personnes confortablement; 1 grand canapé-lit double; 1 piano droit, bibliothèque de lecture, TV, DVD, téléphone.

Pour les locations d'hiver, chauffage central dans toutes les pièces et poêle à granulés dans le salon.

Les chambres ont de hauts plafonds avec des poutres en bois et s'ouvrent toutes directement sur un jardin privé avec vue sur notre oliveraie.

À l’abri de chênes centenaires, la terrasse avec sa ravissante fontaine et son barbecue vous invite à dîner en plein air.

Comme mentionné, la propriété de Fontanella peut être utilisée pour des cours de cuisine, des démonstrations et divers ateliers. Le salon peut être converti en une petite salle de conférence avec installations de projection vidéo, système de son et table de conférence.

Lovely home, beautiful surroundings and gracious hosts!

We stayed here with our 2 year old son and it was the perfect spot to explore Tuscany and Umbria, and also to relax and unwind. Cortona is a short drive away and a postcard worthy town. The kitchen at the house was fabulous and we cooked several meals at home after exploring the market. We also did a cooking class with Simona, which was a delicious highlight. Caroline and Pino were so accommodating and helpful during the stay. Our son loved the garden and trampoline. Can’t wait to return!

Incredible and relaxing

Loved everything. The accommodation was stunning, kitchen had everything, catered for my needs being disabled. The children loved the pool, football pitch etc. Fruit & veg from the garden delicious. You couldn't wish for better. I hope we can get back.

Beautiful setting perfect for a relaxing break...

We are a family of 4 (two children ages 8 and 3 years). We stayed in the Fontanella which was perfect for a small family as we could also put the children to bed and enjoy the lounge and outdoor area. The villa had a lovely tuscan feel to it with modern amenities. My daughter enjoyed using the piano and the kitchen was very well equipped! Clearly a great location for cooking courses. We experience a pizza making course for the children and the adults enjoyed the tastings! I was also lucky enough to be shown how to make a favourite Italian desert of mine by the very experienced Simona - a lovely host/chef - thank you! The villa was a in the perfect location to explore Cortona, Montepulciano and other hill top towns. The Villa was also air-conditioned which was welcomed in 35/40 degrees heatwave! Antonio, Alessandro and Mari-Anna were perfect hosts for the duration of our stay. They were able to help us with our trips, cooking courses and even recommend the local restaurant they worked in for a meal an amazing meal at Locanda Del Molino. I would highly recommend these villas for a peaceful retreat, cooking course, exploring Tuscany/Umbria, Wine tastings and for photographers and painters! I wish I had more time to paint the beautiful sunflowers! The scenery really is something special. Thank you for looking after us and introducing us to a place I will come back too!

A Magical Month in Tuscany

Dream vacations usually happen once in a lifetime. After spending a glorious month at Molino di Bordoni we are already checking dates for a return visit! The picturesque setting, filled with olive trees, sunflowers, and gardens welcomes you each morning. Strolling along the ancient roads by the farmhouse brings an awe inspiring historical perspective. The Nobile family is truly remarkable and ready to assist whenever needed. Their knowledge of the area led us to unforgettable sites, breathtaking views, and mouth-watering restaurants. We miss chatting with them! We were blessed during our stay to have friends and family join us. At times we occupied the entire villa. Each apartment is meticulously cleaned and organized for comfort and privacy, allowing for a rejuvenation of mind and soul. Our dream vacation became a reality at Molino di Bordoni !

Beautiful Oasis in the Cortona Countryside

This is our second year staying at La Fontanella - what a gorgeous property that is lovingly kept by Caroline and Pino. We enjoyed cooking in the scrumptious gourmet kitchen (fully equipped, and I mean fully!) and many delightful meals out of the terrace. The pool was our afternoon go-to spot after daily sightseeing, bicycle rides and long walks. And idyllic family vacation and one we can highly recommend. Perfect for families with the pool, trampoline and field for sports. Close to Pergo (which has a delightful small market) and a short drive to Cortona for some historic sights. Lago di Trasimano is a short drive away for waterspouts and more sightseeing. Can't say enough good things about this place!

Summer Sun in Tuscany

Fabulous setting near the Tuscan / Umbrian border. Relaxed and restful. Great accommodation. Caroline and Pino are wonderful hosts who always ensure we get the relaxing break we need! Was good to be back after a few years away. Look forward to next year.

Perfect end to a perfect trip

I cannot express strongly enough how much we enjoyed our stay at La Fontanella. Our family of five (with three boys, aged 13, 11, and 8) found more than enough room to roam, with equal opportunity to relax. Our stay was at the end of a two week trip to Italy, and capped off our time perfectly. Caroline and Pino are the perfect hosts; generous, always ready with a friendly smile, and consistently available to help with directions and suggestions for a day trip. We ate more than our share of the garden's tomatoes (they are probably sorry they offered), used the garden herbs, ate peaches right from the tree just outside our door, and were even graciously given a lemon from Pino's store for Limoncello when the local grocery was out of them. Speaking of the local grocer, we found it to have a fabulous selection of anything we could have required - try the butcher, they will cut the meat you require as you watch. As we were a family of five, we appreciated the fully outfitted kitchen in which to cook. The outdoor grill was so different from our American counterpart that my husband is researching how to build one at home. I feel as though I am rambling, but if you are looking for a peaceful place to stay with perfect access to Cortona, Montepulciano, Arezzo, etc, this is the place. One last string of amenities: trampoline, swing set, badminton, swimming pool, dogs, cats, washing machine, DVD player with family movies, interesting artwork, and "not to be missed" views. If you want a "can't miss" VRBO stay, Caroline and Pino will have you well sorted.

Stunningly beautiful property

Morelo di Bordone is an amazing place to spend part or all of your vacation. We spent a week in La Fontanella, which is a bit separated from the main building where the rest of the rental units are located. It is hard to say what was more beautiful; the large and immaculate cottage itself, the perfectly landscaped property which is lovingly maintained by the wonderful family that owns and restored the old mill property, or the incredible surroundings themselves. No matter which window you look out, the view is gorgeous, with flowering plants, fruit trees, a terraced olive grove, cypress trees, and perfect sunlight. The pool is close enough to be just a few short steps from the house but placed in a discreet location surrounded by landscaping so that it felt very private when taking a dip, yet you couldn’t hear the other guests at the pool when in the house. I often rent homes throughout Europe and the US and usually find that the décor and supplies are very sparse – with only the bare essentials provided (if that). This was not the case at La Fontanella, where it rather felt that you were staying in the luxurious home of a friend with good taste. The artwork and decorations were lovely and the kitchen was enormous and fully stocked with all of the pots, pans, utensils, cutlery, glassware and dishes that you could possibly need (we often cooked in just to enjoy the marvelous kitchen). There were a large variety of books and movies to choose from. And all of the fixtures, countertops, furnishings were the perfect balance of rustic Tuscan charm and modern convenience and cleanliness. There were even separate air conditioning floor units in each room that could be adjusted to suit your liking (which came in very handy as it was over 90 degrees Fahrenheit each day of our stay) and a clothes washing machine conveniently located in one of the bathrooms. It is clear that no expense was spared in designing and renovating the rental units at this property. Molino Bordone is located about a 10 minute drive (with breathtaking views in both directions) from the historic walled hill town of Cortona, which has many wonderful shops, galleries and restaurants to explore. There is also a pizzeria and a couple of other restaurants/ small markets within walking distance of Molino Bordone, which are very convenient. I cannot recommend this property more highly and only wish that we could have stayed longer.

Perfect Tuscany Accomodations

The renovations on this building are amazing. The kitchen is huge as is the family family. The details in the art work and bathroom tiles are beautiful. The property is very clean. The pool is beautiful, a good size, and with plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Caroline, Pino and their son Antonio were huge helps in making reservations and offering suggestions. They arranged for a cooking class with a chef which was the highlight of our vacation. Antonio made reservations for a wine tour and restaurants - all of which were excellent. There is a vegetable garden on the property, and we used these herbs for our cooking class. The only note that I would make is that the bedrooms are connected where people in the back bedroom walk through the next bedroom to get to the living room. You can talk around the outside. This was our first Home Away experience, and we were unsure what to expect. Our time in Tuscany was the best in Italy. We highly recommend this property!

perfect Tuscan holiday

This is a perfect rental to enjoy all that Tuscany has to offer. Fontanella is beautifully decorated in a Tuscan style, meticulously maintained, and spotlessly clean,. The kitchen is equipped for the gourmet cook, and the living area and bedrooms are very comfortable and pleasant. The grounds and pool area are peaceful and beautiful with Pino's well tended gardens. As landscape painters, we could walk just beyond the property for wonderful views or drive 10 minutes to Cortona for more panoramic views. Within an hour's drive, you could be visiting one of the surrounding hill towns. The owners, Pino and Caroline, were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. We can't wait to go back and would highly recommend this rental.

Molino Di Bordone in het "la Fontanella huis"

We gaan regelmatig naar Molino di Bordone, het is gewoonweg een heerlijke plek, vol in de natuur, veel ruimte, prachtige tuin, mooi zwembad, dichtbij leuke restaurantjes en supermarkt. Mooie wandeling vanuit het huis en je staat op een heuvelrug met uitzicht op Lago Trasimeno. Altijd is er een warm onthaal door de eigenaren Pino & Caroline. Ze hebben veel tips voor vermaak in de regio. Alles is schoon en netjes onderhouden. Paradijs op aarde.... echt waar!!

Fabulous stay at la Fontanella

What a wonderful way to spend a Tuscan vacation. We were warmly greeted upon our arrival to this beautiful home away from home. The house was beautiful and clean and the grounds were superb. Our hosts Caroline and Pino were very informative and made us feel like family. We would definitely return to this amazing home.

As Good As It Gets

In Sept/Oct 2012 (still hot here in Oct) we (3 adults) traveled all over the west side (and some of the middle) of Italy for 3 weeks from the Cinque Terre, Tuscany, Umbria, Amalfi Coast and Rome. We rented a car (thankfully an automatic because it is hilly and twisty, narrow roads). Bar none, this was the most fantastic place of all. I am reviewing the Fontanella only because I want the lovely Caroline & Pino to succeed. Otherwise, I would keep it to myself - my own special place to come back to. Yes, it is that good - far above every other apartment or villa we stayed in - and those others were advertised as wonderfully as this one is. I can only say that the reviewers of other properties have never been here. It's spacious, clean, designer lovely, all the conveniences of home (and then some) and located close to so many of the "day trips" you will want to visit (Assisi, Monteriggioni (which our hosts kindly told us about), San Gimignano, Florence, Fiesole and tons more). The kitchen is just beautiful and located adjacent to the al fresco patio, just like you dream Tuscany should be. The bedrooms are big and there are walkouts from every room! The grounds are well kept and so pretty. Our stay was too short at 4 nights. Next time, I would stay here and day trip my whole vacation from here. It is only about 2.5 - 3 hours to reach from Fiumicino airport, even if you have no idea where you're going (this was our first stay). La Fontanella

We are now back 2 weeks from our trip to Italy ..a.trip of a lifetime! We stayed at "La Fontanella" for the week of July 7-14,2012 with our two daughters. The property was a "Paradise" and we were in love with the area as well as the home. It was immaculate and the pictures held true to what we expected. Caroline and Pino went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was memorable.We wanted to take a cooking class and Pino arranged for us to meet with Lucca his friend and Chef ( Caspin Tours). It was a night filled with wonderful memories and delicious food as well. My family had the BEST time and sooo much fun! As we were sittting by the pool, we were surprised to see people horseback riding down the trail of the property. My daughters love to go horseback riding and Pino was kind enough to find Vascos' phone number and he contacted him for us . Pino set up the date and in a few days my daughters were horse back riding through fields of sunflowers and olive trees. They had an amazing time! Now those were only a couple of our adventures in the Tuscany area as there are many villages to visit and explore as well as wine tasting.We found everyone to be extremely friendly and helpful throughout our trip. We would recommend this property in a" heartbeat" !When it was time for us to leave and continue our adventures, everyone felt sad because we were leaving a place that we had actually fallen in love with. Fantastic Molino di Bordone

We stayed at Moline di Bordone for a week and had a fantastic time. We rented La Fontanella and Stalla Rustica for a group of nine and it met every expectation. The listing description was accurate and everything was extremely clean. The grounds are perfect, the hosts are friendly and extremely knowledgeable, and the pool at the end of a hot summer day is refreshing! Our hosts arranged a cooking class for the group which was fantastic but as a result we will never eat boxed pasta again. Pino took us on a wonderful day tour of Assisi. Perhaps our favorite memories are going to dinner at the local soccer tournament in Montanare two nights and eating wonderful and very reasonably priced pizza, etc. All in all - a wonderful trip and perfect accommodations and hosts!

Picture Postcard Perfect

We were celebrating a 60th birthday, and the 4 of us wanted to celebrate in Tuscany. Our 10 day stay in La Fontanella was just as we had imagined it would be. The apartment is clean and bright, beautifully appointed, well maintained, all inclusive, and perfect for our needs. Caroline and Pino were welcoming, friendly, and very helpful hosts. The location is perfect for day trips to every part of Tuscany and Umbria, either by car or by train. We would definitely recommend a stay at Il Molino di Bordone.

So perfect!

My husband, our 2 children (7 and 5 years old) and I spent our summer vacation at La Fontanella. We come from Canada. We were so pleased by this property. It was beyond our expectations. This place is so beautiful!!!! We recommend it to everybody. Caroline and Giuseppe, the owners, were very welcoming and friendly.

Could Not Have Been Better!

We (four adults from the US) stayed in the Villa La Fontanella from Nov. 4 - Nov. 8, 2010. Our hosts, Caroline, Pino and the children were fun, gracious and very helpful. The Villa was exceptionally clean, spacious and well furnished (especially the kitchen) with everthing we could possibly need. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. We enjoyed the local "bar" and pizza restaurant and made several trips to the local market. The location is ideal for touring Tuscany & Umbria. Our most memorable evening was a cooking event arranged by Caroline that featured Chef Lucca. We all participated (a little) with preparing the salt crusted guinea fowl, home made pasta with spicey garlic red sauce, roasted potatoes & veggies and chocolate mousse. Thanks again for your hospitality and give our best to your family and Lucca. Cheers!

Beautiful, exceeds expectations

We stayed in La Fontanella for 2 weeks, in late May, early spring 2009. This apartment is very clean, bright, and finished to an exceptionally high standard. The patio is huge and private, terrific for al fresco dining. And dine very well you will, what with the huge gourmet kitchen. This apartment is also unusual in that it is all one level. If you have any disability issues ( one healing broken leg, in our case), this can be important. The grounds are scenic and quiet, and Pino and Caroline. were gracious hosts.The other apartments were suficiently distant. There is a wonderfully relaxing rural feel to the property, without making you feel remote. A car is probably a necessity, though. Most certainly on our return list
