This was our least favourite Expedia/VRBO experience to date.
Door code provided did not work and we then had difficulty communicating with the host. Eventually engaged VRBO customer support. Instead of checking in at 4:30 PM, we eventually checked in at around 8PM.
The rental was not ready for us. Sheets did not appear to have been changed on the beds, used sheets and potato chips in the living room, coffee pot half full/not cleaned, no kitchen utensils. All of this communicated to the host with no return communication. Saying that, during one of our absences, a container of kitchen utensils appeared in the kitchen. Nice to get them, would have been nice to know someone was coming into the property.
As a result of the above we spent our first evening laundering bed sheets before we could go to bed. And to make things more interesting, both the washer and dryer were already full of dirty towels and damp towels respectively.
Communication was a big issue. There appeared to be two different chat options with the host, one via the Expedia app which we never got any response to, and one via the VRBO app which we got very limited responses to. There was an option to phone your host. That connected us directly to VRBO support.
To summarize, not a great Expedia/VRBO stay. The unit itself, had it been clean and properly stocked (utensils) and had the host been easier to communicate with, would have been fine.
