« Staying at the Berkeley was amazing. Beautiful grounds, neat to have the Frederick suite. Almost too big for 1, but I sure felt at ease and relaxed. A much needed "me time." The gelato ice cream was a plus and everything was in walking distance: especially to the Chop House for dinner. My daughter even met me there who goes to JMU. Great getaway and close enough to JMU to see and plan events around that area. Would come back in a heartbeat . »

« There is no staff so it’s hard to review that. However communication was clear and quick. Great room. Remodel very well done. Broken walkway was a safety hazard going up the front lawn. But If still give it an A. We stayed 5 different places in West Virginia and Virginia including the Jefferson in Richmond and this is the place I will revisit. »

« Beautiful pastoral, location, self service (no staff or registration), comfortable beds, very clean room and bathroom. Nice gathering space with coffee/tea available. We did experience quite a bit of noise from the guests (who arrived after midnight) directly above us and since we were the only two rooms (8 suites total available) I’m not sure why they had us together and not separated. Both the bathroom and closet doors did not fully close without slamming them forcefully. »

« The place is pretty neat to stay in, really a wide open space. The only issue I have is at night you can hear the air and plumbing due to it being a basement, but you get use to it. The views are beyond believe in the morning. Be sure to follow the directs to get there and arrive prior to sunset to help you park your vehicle. I would recommend this to a family for the game room and the wide open space. »

« The place was very clean, the host provided plenty of towels, wash clothes, and other toiletry supplies. It was just far out enough out of the busyness of the town yet close enough to enjoy the shops and restaurants within the area. The bed was extremely comfortable. We are already planning to return next year. »
