A tourist with the Big Apple
The Big Apple is a bakery, restaurant and roadside attraction in the community of Colborne, part of the municipality of Cramahe, Northumberland County in Central Ontario, Canada. It just off Ontario Highway 401 at interchange 497 (Northumberland County Road 25/Percy Street) and is recognizable from the highway because of what it claims is the world's largest apple.

With a height of 10.7 metres (35 ft) and diameter of 11.6 metres (38 ft), the Big Apple features an observation deck.

The site also features a petting zoo and other amenities.

« I booked 7 months in advance. Three months prior to stay I had a change to my travel plans. I requested cancellation of the first night of my 9 night stay to accommodate my itinerary. I was told it was not possible. I sent them a copy of their own policy that showed it was allowed. Carstin (the property manager, I presume) said that they would discuss the request with “the team” and keep me posted. After 5 weeks of not hearing from him, I requested an update on the cancellation request status....

« My son and I stayed here recently and we truly enjoyed our visit! The property is a little hard to find (the entrance is in the back), but when it’s an absolute hidden gem! Right in the heart of downtown, the property is better than any five—star hotel for longer stays. Comfy beds, spectacular showers and wonderfully thoughtful amenities.
