Guide de voyage: Commune de Hollands Kroon 2026

Commune de Hollands Kroon : idées de séjour, infos pratiques et culturelles

We traveled across Afsluitdijk while touring in the Netherlands. It was truly impressive to see how the small nation has kept the sea at bay (no pun intended). At this stop near the middle of the structure, there is some history that explains how each stone was installed by hand, along with a great many other impressive metrics. Worth the trip.

Seemingly random along the Dutch dikes you will find structures like this, which hide a pumping station. Named after Cornelis Lely, one of many who changed the Zuiderzee into the IJsselmeer.

Many buildings are plain ugly by all possible definitions, this one is a nice exception. Style: New pragmatism. They are even more impressive when they engines are running. - No Holland without them! #greatdesign
Den Oever is the last village before you go accros the 32 km Afsluitdijk, which separates the IJsselmeer from the Waddenzee. Great and fresh seafood in the harbour, do order "Kibbeling"!
