  • The second oldest building remaining on The Ohio State University campus, Orton Hall was opened in 1893. It is named after Dr Edward Orton, Sr. who served as Ohio State's first president, OSU Professor of Geology from 1873 to 1899, and Ohio's State Geologist from 1882 until his death in 1899. Orton Hall is built of 40 different Ohio building stones. In the outside walls, these stones are laid in stratigraphic order according to their relative positions in Ohio's bedrock. The only non-indigenous to Ohio stone used is Indiana Limestone to build the front steps. It was chosen because of its high concentration of embedded fossils. The bell tower was dedicated in 1915 and contains 25,000 pounds of bells that can be heard regularly tolling across campus. Encircling the top of the tower are 24 columns with gargoyle-like figures which are restorations of fossil animals.

Fantastic stay, easy check-in and out process. Host could not have been more accommodating. Any time there was a question, we received a positive response immediately. Unit was well stocked and all amenities worked perfectly. It seems we were centerally located and able to get anywhere in the area in a relatively short time. We all agreed, this would surely be a unit we would look to book next time we visit Columbus. Many thanks and much appreciation to our gracious host.

Stayed 1 night with friends. The place looks exactly like the pictures. Nice, clean, and up to date. Just a few things to note….1. The directions sent were very confusing! We eventually figured out parking and where the place was, but it all depends on what elevator you take! 2. Towels were provided but no wash cloths, and the one bathroom didn’t have any body wash3. No check out directions were left4. We had asked about checking in just an or two earlier and was told there would be a fee because of a tight cleaning schedule. Okay, but then the day of check in we were sent the info earlier in the day and told the early check in fee was waived, which was nice, but it felt a little like they were trying to make a few extra dollars off us. Again nothing major but just a few things we noted that stood out to us from previous places.

We had a great time at this property. We had friends in from out of town to go see the Buckeyes play UCLA and had a great time. We were able to walk to restaurants and shops with no problem. The owner/host was quick to respond to any questions we had. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely 2-night stay here. The host is very responsive and everything was as they said it would be. There weren’t any coffee pods so the host ordered some to have delivered. That’s going above and beyond! 4 small bath towels were provided, no hand towels for the bathrooms. Would have liked to have a TV in the bedroom, but it was nice to have a smart TV in the living room. The bed was very comfortable. It was a quiet place other than some traffic outside the primary window as it is on the street side of the complex. Knowing which garage to park in or what elevator to take was a little cumbersome at first, but we figured it out. We’d definitely stay here again. It’s a gorgeous property all around. I wish there were more “Italian” shops to go to as it’s in the Italian village, but maybe that’s coming eventually. Definitely an up and coming neighborhood but we still felt safe.

Has it All!

Super clean and fresh. Great amenities Checking in was a little confusing but once we found the room we figured it out and getting around was easy. I was a bit leery of the neighborhood at first but did feel safe in the complex. There are a lot of places close by to eat. We weren’t there long enough to walk around but there were restaurants within a walkable distance. Great communication with owner too. Overall great place and would definitely stay again!

Beautiful clean property

Property is brand new. Everything is beautiful and so clean. We didnt get to use the pool due to rain but it was gorgeous. Lots of indoor garage parking available. It really isnt walking distance to anything but its like a gated community that felt safe. Street noise for the master bedroom was a downside for us. We live in the suburbs and are not used to traffic sounds. The condo itself is very quiet and we heard zero neighbor noise. Owner was very attentive when a blip arised and solved the issue immediately. Great owner communication.

Great! Once you figure out how to get in

Super clean new apartment. Felt safe and had pretty much everything you could need. My husband enjoyed the small balcony. The beds were super comfy. My main complaint was the parking pass was lost by previous guests, so we had to find a space WAY out of the way AND during a thunderstorm. My Dad got there first and had a difficult time trying to find the apartment. The walk to the apartment itself is quite the trek through the building unless you take the stairs or can go up the elevator through the garage. It would have been way better if we had that parking pass.
