  • WE ARE LOCATED in the Appalachian Foothills of Southern Ohio. Our 70 acre property offers high rock cliffs, deep gorges, and hidden caves.  View picturesque nature from over three miles of clearly marked, scenic trails.  Come, getaway at Liberty Retreat!


  • COMPARING PRICES - You cannot find a better deal!!   Our nightly rate includes all we offer.  We don't nickel & dime you with additional fees.  It's all included at LIBERTY RETREAT.  Everyone really seems to like it.


  • CARETAKER'S COTTAGE, originally built in the 1960's, was totally refurbished in 2021 with comfort and relaxation in mind.  Caretaker's Cottage displays rustic charm with all the modern conveniences.






      • THE LIVING AREA provides comfortable seating and is open to the nicely equipped, full kitchen with peninsula that seats four. There's also a smart tv, a ton of family friendly DVDs, WIFI and a good selection of books and board games.


      • ACCOMMODATIONS include two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, adjustable reading lamps, convenient outlets for phones & chargers and a full "Jack & Jill" bathroom (shower, sink, toilet). If you forget something, we keep a small supply of toiletries on hand.


      • FRESH, PLUSH TOWELS and extra blankets always available. All dishes, silverware, pots, pans, blender, coffee pot, coffee, filters, creamer & sugar are also provided. Our Keurig coffee maker is a dual feature machine, allowing drip coffee or K-pods.


      • THE SECLUDED PAVER PATIO contains the fire pit with firewood, fire starters & lighter provided. Gather a little kindling right around the cottage.  Cook your meals on our Blackstone grill.  Experience the invigorating outdoor shower. (available May-Oct).   Get up a game of Cornhole.  See if you can identify all the different types of birds at the feeders. 


      • AFTER A DAY of interacting with the great outdoors, indulge by soaking your cares away in our amazing private hot tub.  Perfect for romantic escapes, anniversaries, birthdays, honeymoons or any other reason to just ... getaway  


      • IN THE EVENING, start with a crackling fire. Listen to the soothing sounds of owls, tree frogs and whippoorwills as you view the innumerable stars in the night sky. We love it here. We know you will too.


      • WE LIVE HERE on the property.  Our home is located about 250' from the cottage. The cottage is semi secluded & due to the foliage we can barely see it, but we're close enough to help if you need something.  You may see us out doing yard work, but other than that, we stay out of sight.


      • PLEASE READ our Liberty Retreat Company Policies.  This serves as our Rental Agreement.  You acknowledge this at booking.  Please take the time to read it.  If you can't find it, please ask.  We'll send a copy.  You will be required to acknowledge our policies, complete and sign our liability waiver at check in.

      This place is a hidden GEM. The hosts have added so many nice touches to make you feel welcomed and at home. They take their time to walk you through and show you everything you may need. You also get to enjoy two wonderful furry friends Wednesday and Ellie who will live in my kids hearts. If you are planning a get away and this place is available GO. We will be going back that’s for sure. Oh also there are trails right behind the cabin that are just beautiful. Do yourself a favor and take a trip to Liberty Retreat in Beaver Ohio.

      I stayed at this property because I had business in Jackson. Mark and Sandy were very accomodating hosts. Mark warmly greeted me when I arrived and showed me around the property--there's a lot to see. There are also alot of features of the property for guests to enjoy. Mark was very proud of the property and its condition--and justifiably so. Because it was a work trip for me, I didn't get to enjoy any of the extras. Ellie, the trusty black lab who greeted me every day, made it feel like home.

      Lovely Retreat

      Beautiful, well kept cabin on a lovely wooded property. My niece and I enjoyed grilling dinner and relaxing in the hot tub. We had a quiet getaway. We also explored a winery and other nearby towns. We also hiked trails on the property. The cabin was well stocked with paper products, utensils, dishes, games and movies.

      A beautiful and clean space. A perfect location away from the hustle of the city but close enough for any needs. The black stone and hot tub were nice amenities that added much ease and relaxation to our stay as well as all the special touches, such as the welcome sign and basket! Overall the property and the trails were beautiful!

      Fantastic Getaway

      Liberty Retreat is an amazing place to step away from the world and relax! Sandy and Mark, the owners were so accomadating and helpful! the propery was impressive, even with some rain we had a chance to take in some of trail on thier property. A wonderful opportunity to spend some time together. The cottage is even better than the pictures show! We had a great stay and will be back!

      Cozy home away from home

      A cozy cabin, with a kitchen to cook our dinners, and a hot tub to relax in! We just wanted to get away for a few days. We drove into Jackson a couple times to go to their brewery and coffee shop. We also said hi to the owners dog and cat! Thanks for a great stay.

      Comfy and clean getaway cottage!

      We really enjoyed our stay at Liberty Retreat. With my wife being a house cleaner, cleanliness is huge for us and we were very happy with everything. The kitchen had all the utensils, pots, pans and seasonings for us to cook all of our meals there. Loved the hot tub and the trails were cool to walk through. We would definitely stay again, especially when the weather is a little warmer!

      We had a wonderful stay. Everything was just as described. Mark and Sandy have thought about everything. From the moment we got there to the moment we left it felt like home.       Absolutely beautiful

      Despite the snowstorm of the decade...we had a wonderful time with beautiful views and a wonderfully appointed cabin. Soft towels and robes! A wonderful array of birds in the feeders out by the front door.

      The house is very beautiful. The layout is simple which gives it the home away from home feeling. Very comfortable beds and a few nice companions that come by to say hello and let you pet them. Definitely coming back here again.

      I have been around the world and stayed in 5 star hotels and resorts, NONE have given me the comfort and convenience as liberty retreat. The house was cozy, the property was beautiful and the host were fantastic! Heck , even the pets were great greeters!!

      Wondeful trip. Plenty of room for 4 hunters. Clean, quiet and secure. Planning to stay again next year. Property owners were very helpful with anything we needed.

      Wonderful Stay!

      We stayed at Liberty Retreat for the weekend of my goddaughter’s wedding. It was the perfect place to be able to relax and also prepare for the wedding. We did a bit of hiking the trails, they are well marked. The outdoor shower is a must! We had never tried one before. Everything was as described and better. Pack dog treats for Ellie as she will come and visit you. Wednesday, the cat, was sweet and friendly. Thank you, Mark and Sandy for sharing your home with us!

      All and More!

      Our stay here was so relaxing, so comfortable, and we were attended to so well, you may be surprised that when we arrived a storm had take out electric power. Our hosts had all in hand, with oil lamps, and hock made this beautiful cabin even more special.
