Lots of space and things to do for the four generations that came from 6 states in the region for Thanksgiving. The kitchen was well-equipped, property in good shape and perfect indoor and outdoor spaces for our family.

Great stay at a beautiful property (with 2 houses) on Lake Norman

Our large group really enjoyed staying at the 2 houses on Lake Norman through Lakecations. Everything was just as advertised, right on the water, clean, and the pool was awesome. 100% would recommend to any other groups.

Great Houses and Property

We all enjoyed our stay, the property and houses are great. The pool and two docks as well as the pickle ball and basketball courts are great amenities. The seating for hanging out and dinner was perfect for our large family. Communication was great. We definitely recommend staying at this property if you have a large family.

Awesome House for a Family Reunion!

This is a dream rental! Stocked with every kitchen utensil and appliance you could ever need! Great pool and spread of rooms and kayaks to enjoy! Our group even got out on the pickleball court a lot, even though it’s a little narrower than a real court.

Four generations family vacation

Houses, lake, property were beautiful! The pool was amazing for all ages! Loved having the boat delivered and picked up from the dock. Enjoyed having the paddle board and kayak as well! We vacation on a different lake every year and we really enjoyed this lake!

The BEST place to stay on Lake Norman

From the check in process to check out process, it was so smooth. The property manager reached out a few days prior to checking in and she was very responsive. I’d recommend this property over and over! The pictures literally do it no justice at all! This house was AMAZING and it was perfect for the getaway! We will be coming back!

Amazing 90th birthday celebration

Amazing property. Everything top botch and exactly as advertised. Hosts were helpful and very responsive! The chairs could be reupholstered or a little more comfortable and some of the furniture needs to be replaced but that is a small criticism on an absolutely wonderful property! We would host another family vacation here again and we may come back again!

Awesome weekend!

We stayed here with some family and friends for the weekend and it was phenomenal! The property is absolutely gorgeous and located on a perfect spot on the lake. Both houses are spacious and up to date and have all amenities you could need. We loved laying out by the luxurious pool and using the fire pit to make s’mores. The kitchen and common areas are huge so there’s plenty of space to eat and socialize! The deck was such a nice addition and is perfect for sunsets and sunrises! All around just a perfect spot for a large group. You won’t want to leave!

Amazing Stay!

This property was AMAZING! In fact this was the first time being able to rent out a space with 2 homes on the same spot. The cottage was so cozy and nice. The cabin home felt like we were in the mountains WHILE we stayed on the lake. Beautiful lake view very quiet and peaceful. Both homes were great and the bedding was very comfortable with clean and fresh linens! If you have need of a lake vacation that can accomodate lots of people its worth the money spent! Fall retreat

We used this property as a fall retreat for our college ministry. Everything was great, the only minus would be the pool not being able to be heated (we tried to have it heated, but it never got warm enough). Everything else was perfect though!

Christmas Get-a-way with family Lake Avany

Lake Avant was in my opinion 2nd to none. My family of 30 and I enjoyed the experience of the lodge and cottage. They were both top notch clean and had everything that we needed in the kitchen. The youth enjoyed playing pickle ball and the other games on the grounds and inside. The weather was nice for first coupe days so the younger children enjoyed the outside. The older men enjoyed kayaking and we also appreciated how both homes were decorated so beautifully. This made our Christmas exceptionally special. We are really thinking about visiting when weather gets warmer.

Leadership retreat

We really liked the home and the property. A couple of items that need to be addressed. Downstairs master bath only had hot water for shower, also the same problem in the common area bath downstairs. Would be nice to have brushes in kitchen to clean potatoes and corn. Everything else was great.

Great property- make sure construction is finished

This was a 5+ star property- clean, beautiful views, comfortable accommodations- could have used one additional bathroom upstairs so 4 adults did not have to share. 4 stars are due to the construction on a new-build next door. Work started at 7AM and continued until 6PM. The house shared a driveway so there was frequent construction traffic and people parking in the driveway. This is clearly temporary but distracted from otherwise wonderful Thanksgiving family reunion.

Perfect Place for Group Gathering

This is the perfect place for group gathering! The place has a lot of space for 30 people. The place is very relaxing and there’s enough to do for everybody. The house has indoor/outdoor games, firepit, grill, water activities, and complete supplies for the kitchen and bedrooms. Everything you can possibly think of is already onsite. There’s plenty of parking space in the area and stores/restaurants are around 20mins drive. The property is very well maintained and the Property Manager is very helpful and responsive. Don’t hesitate! Just book it!

Great location, beautiful property

The property is beautiful and location is awesome. Pool is lovely. Easy pontoon boat rental. Plenty of space for everyone and communication was easy. The cottage looks newly built and is lovely. There were a few things that challenged our visit. The internet is incredibly slow and pretty much unusable. The second refrigerator in the main lodge basement wasn’t working and a main lodge bathtub wasn’t working as well. The dishwasher in the main lodge didn’t fully clean the dishes, and we had to rewash them.

Absolutely an incredible place!

When arriving at this amazing destination, we were in awe of the beauty. The property is breathtaking. It was a little chilly so we were not expecting to use the pool, but it sure made for a nice conversation place. Inside both homes, the amenities, room set ups, and condition of the homes were impeccable. We had a little issue with plumbing (due to some roots growing into the septic field) but Brett the property manager, took care of everything with ease, and professionalism. It did not disrupt anything we had planned. The master suite in the Lodge was where I got to stay. It was so luxurious...amazing linens, lots of closet space, killer double head shower, and views galore! I give the Azalea Retreat a 10 out of 10!
