Villa Giari is a delightful residence on two floors which was finished renovating at the end of 2021. It is located on elevated land with, in the upper part, a wonderful grove framing the dining and relaxation areas that provide guests with moments of pure well-being and opportunities for outdoor meals in the shade of centuries-old oak trees. Further down, and immediately behind the villa, an outdoor kitchen, complete with wood-burning oven and barbecue, and the furnished pergola, located in a shady area, complete the idyllic setting of the park that embraces the villa. The architectural structure of Villa Giari was designed to contain all areas necessary for it to be lived in with independence and comfort, yet ensuring appropriate convivial areas, thanks to the open-plan sitting room communicating with the dining room and the fully-equipped, ground-floor kitchen. The first floor, in addition to the sleeping area, consists of a panoramic furnished veranda and an additional living area. The property is located 1 km from Ceglie Messapica, a hilly relief in the southern part of the Murge Plateau, abutting the northern geographical area that delimits the Upper Salento. Only 13 km from Ostuni, the property can be reached by driving south along the State Road 379 via the Villanova di Ostuni exit, effectively acting as a bridge between the sea and the hinterland.
Interior:
Villa Giari has a total area of 300 sq m with two floors, each 150 sq m, connected by both internal and external stairs. The entrance on the ground floor leads to the open-plan area, located in the centre of the house, consisting of a sitting room with smart TV, armchairs and a brick bench, and connected, on one side, to a dining room with kitchen, and, on the other side, to a guest bathroom near the wooden stairs leading up to the first floor. Here, a corridor leads to a sitting room with smart TV and communicating with a French window facing the furnished veranda, a walk-in kitchen, a hallway leading to a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower, a further hallway, reached up a step, with a double bedroom (with queen-size bed) with ensuite bathroom with shower and two double bedrooms (one with queen-size bed) sharing a bathroom with shower and tub. The laundry has access from the outside and is located in a bathroom with shower serving the nearby swimming pool. Air conditioning only in the bedrooms.
Park:
The splendid, completely-fenced, 5000 sq m park of Villa Giari is dominated by a small grove characterised by typical Mediterranean scrub: eucalyptus, pines and evergreens, fruit trees, holm oaks, strawberry trees, mastic trees. In certain periods of the year it is possible to admire the Ophrys Cellensis, a precious orchid exclusive to the area, while a centuries-old oak provides shade for both the gazebo with dining area in the heart of the grove and the lawn bordering the swimming pool. The centuries-old trees are enhanced by the carob trees in front of the villa and by the cedars of Lebanon that shade the parking area. Also in front of the villa is a first, "prehistoric", flowerbed characterised by plants of ancient origin such as cycas and ginkgo biloba and a second one dominated by a magnolia more than 5 metres high. In the north-eastern part of the property, after walking along a natural path bordered by a lavender hedge, guests can enjoy the presence of a pond rich in aquatic plants such as summer water lilies or winter water hawthorn, giant and dwarf papyrus, water irises, pontederia cordata, typha and sagittaria. Also in the same area, clay terracing bordered by a wooden palisade contains a small play area. To the south-east of the villa is the 5-car parking area which can be reached from the villa up a step and then along a stone walkway several metres long. The area is bordered by laurel and viburnum, enhanced by an orchard of persimmon, apple and plum trees. There are two driveways serving the villa, bordered by hedges, both side by side and equipped with an automatic swing gate: one goes directly to the parking area and the other directly to the main entrance of the villa. There are three dining areas: the outdoor kitchen in front of the villa, surrounded by a green wall of pittosporum, complete with barbecue and wood-burning oven; the pergola next to the villa embellished by two wisterias with stone table and chairs; and the gazebo with wooden table and chairs in the grove.Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.
Swimming Pool:
About 30 metres from the villa and reachable along a stone path and three steps, is the rectangular pool measuring 6 x 12 m with the depth varying from 0.80 to 1.50 m. Lined in PVC, the pool is equipped with a salt chlorinator thanks to which, through an electrolysis process, it is self-cleaning. Access to the water is via Roman steps and a solarium area complete with sunbeds runs along the entire perimeter. The whole area is characterised by an imposing white mulberry tree, by pear, apricot, peach, hazelnut, fig and medlar trees, while the external cold-water shower is protected by jasmine, Serving the area, next to the pergola of the villa, is a changing room/bathroom with shower. The swimming pool can be used from the first Saturday in April until the last Saturday in October.
