A jewel in Somerset

We had a most delightful stay at the Pilgrims. Situated in a small village in Somerset we found first class accommodation with a most incredible breakfast, cooked to order by owner/chef Jools, using the finest locally sourced ingredients. Dinner is also available, but advance booking a must. The village is close to such delights as The Cheddar Gorge and the beautiful Cathedral in Wells.

Great host and chef

Convenient halfway stopover between Cornwall and Kent, most accommodating host. Excellent walk in shower, best yet! Great choice on restaurant menu. And catered for dairy free diet at short notice.

The Pilgrims

Stop over one night to break the journey. Chose this hotel as it had a walk in shower which it did. Overall the room was clean and nice the bathroom was nice and modern. TV in the room.The dining arrangements and the hotel itself is a bit quaint/niche, so if your looking for something more in the way of entertainment and choice you have come to the wrong hotel. However, the food was ok and the owners quite personable and charming. Price for the room and the food a bit steep, though.

Perfect accommodation and stunning food.

Just a fantastic little place. Guest accommodation was modern, clean and comfortable. The owners were just lovely people and very welcoming. The stand out thing for me though was the food. It was outstanding and deserving of all of the accolades it has won to date. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Overnight stay

It was an overnight stay en route not holiday. A nice quiet spot off the beaten track with very friendly service. The room was comfortable but the lighting was poor especially for reading and make up. Breakfast was excellent.

Very satisfied

There was minimal space for storage of clothing i.e. no drawers and very limited hanging space if your stay is longer than 2 nights. Overall enjoyable. We were visiting family in the area.

Immaculate hotel, fabulous food.

A lucky find. The food was superb - freshly prepared and cooked beautifully, using local, fresh produce. (Clearly labelled regarding allergies) A range of local cheeses and a good wine list Friendly staff and great service. The room was lovely, warm (it was January) and very clean. We enjoyed the homemade shortbread with the tea and coffee facilities. We aim to go back there later in the year

One of the nicest rooms we have stayed in

The rooms are perfect ,every small detail has been thought out and they are immaculate.Bed was very comfortable and the facilities excellent.Bathroom was lovely and everywhere was so clean. Very friendly staff and nothing is too much trouble.The breakfast was gorgeous (the best ever) and the setting lovely. We would recommend this guest house .The resturant was the best food ,the chief was amazing a contender for Masterchief ,best Seabass i have ever eaten.

Lovely place to relax

A lovely place in a small Somerset village, a lovely quiet location. The room was spotlessly clean and i could not fault the comfort. If I were to pick anything negative it would only be that I felt the place was more set up for leisure stays as there wasn't a desk and chair for working (though a small fold out table was in the cupboard so I used that). The tea and coffee selection in the room was very good with some lovely, thoughtful, touches. Breakfast is normally served from 8:30 and they were able to accommodate my request to eat earlier, which was appreciated.
