"Wonderful location with splendid views over river from large room. We extended to 8 nights so obviously good but tiny tiny wardrobe so clothes around room. However , we saw other rooms had much larger later so should have asked to change. Excellent overall"

"Broken down car in the car park is only vehicle there. Doors open but no staff. Have to go several hundred metres to ibis budget to register. Poorly maintained and unsafe feeling area not helped by signs pointing out that the car park is not secured "

"The house is very distinctive. It is just off the main (but quiet) road, so easy to find. The owner's house is across from it. The view is excellent, you are not overlooked at the back of the house and you have access to the farmland. There are a number of very nice walks - the late summer skies over the ripening orchards were just beautiful. The house is well featured, with everything reasonably provided for (including a kettle and coffee machine & percolator). Aircon is provided in the living area and top floor bedroom. We brought our Firestick to watch online (being easier to do so than use the TV). The middle floor sleeps up to 4 people (double and 2 single beds), while the top floor is double. Like a lot of period french houses, the upper stairs is steep - but is well built, with a good handrail. The pool is above ground, accessed by an up-and-over ladder. While this is fine for most people, it is a bit wobbly - so it will feel unstable for those less sure on their feet. It's also felt quite cool, but was at around 25 degrees C according to the thermometer. The host, Solange, could not have been friendlier. She made a real effort to make us feel welcome and settled. Warm and personable, without being instrusive."

"Lovely building and we had a really excellent dinner - the catering team was changing so they weren't on their new menu yet so what we had was effectively a one-off. Lots of attention from the chap who was taking over the running of the kitchen. We had an automatic email from the property saying we had pre-payed but when we checked out we were told we hadn't. That caused some confusion especially as the man at checkout kept referring to our Expedia booking - I know Hotels.com is part to Expedia but it was hardly helpful especially as this was all dealt with in French. The decor of the building is lovely and it is well set up for wheelchair access with lifts between floors (but awkward stairs from the car park to reception. Bike parking was rudimentary and outdoors but the chateau is in a very quiet spot."
