The good- very close to the beach, cute decorations, fenced in yard, enough room for what our family needed. The bad- all tvs on the top floor were off their mounts and stuffed on the floor of the master closet. Washing machine bangs so hard you would think it was going to explode. Dryer takes many cycles to dry even small loads of clothes (one moderate load took 4 90 minute cycles to dry). The ugly- reached out to the host via text message and vrbo with no response back. VRBO tried to reach out to the host after no response for over 5 days, still no response back from the host. Left a voicemail and finally on the 6th day someone called us back. A smoke detector was going off for more than a day and a half before we as the rentors had to unplug it ourselves. Only when the host company finally reached back out on the 6th day did they realize that the whole alarm was broken (which they then replaced and also brought us towels because of the dryer issue). Top floor bathroom has a tremendous amount of mold on the ceiling and in the vents. The house has roaches which is an apparent issue the host knew about judging by the roach bait stations near the trash can and under the sinks. Roaches started climbing up from behind the oven and were found on the walls of the kitchen (have pictures of this). All of the issues the host was informed of via text message and phone. Have pictures of everything. It really seems like the host was overwhelmed or negligent.
