  • Summary:

    Catching Waves is a unique place that has a style all its own. Kick back and relax in this charming 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo just a short stroll from the beach! Located on Canal Ave, you're just a block from the beach access and minutes from the Carolina Beach Boardwalk, local eats, and all the laid-back coastal vibes. We have seating available for 4 people inside as well as a cute little private balcony.



    The Space:

    -Located on the North End with access to all outdoor activities "Pleasure Island" has to offer fishing, boating, biking, surfing, kayaking, and deep sea charters. Many amazing restaurants, eclectic drinking holes and coffee shops + Historic Ft. Fisher and the NC Aquarium. Check out Carolina Beach’s new mural project too! - Wilmington Airport and Downtown Wilmington less than 40 mins away. -There is a Beach re-nourishment done in Carolina and Kure beach every 3 years. This helps to keep our beaches safe from erosion. Please note that we have no control over this project.



    Other Things to Note:

    We supply the following for each property: A starter kit of one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, one roll of paper towels, a trash bag, and dish soap. We also supply laundered bed linens, comforters, and 1 bathing towel and wash cloth per person. We do not supply any beach gear or beach towels. We have great rental companies on the island we would be more than happy to share the info with you. We also do not supply laundry detergent, body soap or shampoo/conditioner as we find everyone has their own preferences for these =) Please review our house rules prior to your stay. The TV is equipped with roku. Please log in to your own streaming apps

Les points forts : Propreté, arrivée, communication et emplacement
Overall, the property was okay. We had a safe place to sleep. Neither of the tubs held water long enough for our kids to take a bath and two of the five nights the water went cold after only 3-4 minutes of running the water. It took about 35 minutes afterwards until we could get hott water again. The listing said the property provided a "starter pack" of towels and paper towels for the entire visit (we stayed 5 days), so we had to do laundry every day. It would have been nice to have an additional pack per person so we didn't have to worry about laundry everyday. Similarly, they only provided 1 dishwasher pod, so we had to hand-wash all dishes whipe we were there. Again, not a deal-breaker, but not something you want to have to worry about while on vacation. Lastly, if you book, just know that the HOA doesn't allow golf carts on site. This would have been nice to know ahead of time because we had to resort to driving some places and pay for parking. It's not a deal-breaker, but it would have been nice to know, especially traveling with little kids. I'm thankful that we had a place that was a block from the beach, but I hope the above feedback helps others make an informed decision on booking and packing.
