Welcome to this charming, newly renovated 3-bedroom, 1-bath beach cottage in Carolina Beach, NC! Located just one block away from the ocean, this cozy retreat offers the perfect blend of modern updates and classic coastal charm. The open-concept living area features rich wood finishes and all new comfortable furnishings, making it an inviting space for family and friends to gather after a day at the beach.

The Space:

With its stylish design and all the essentials, the fully equipped kitchen is ready for a meal with friends or family! Each bedroom is decorated with beachy touches and new furniture, ensuring a restful night's sleep for up to 6 people! Two bedrooms each offer a queen-sized bed, and the third one offers two twin beds. 


The fully equipped kitchen, with all new stainless steel appliances and all the essentials, is ready for you to whip up home-cooked meals. Each bedroom is decorated with beachy touches and comfortable mattresses, ensuring a restful night’s sleep for up to 6 people! Two queen-size beds and two twin-size beds! The renovated shed in the fenced-in back yard houses a washer and dryer, beach games, and a full-size fridge/freezer for all the extra vacation groceries.


Finish your day roasting marshmallows by the fire pit out back, relaxing on the covered porch, or take a nap after dinner on the large front screened-in porch!

Sammie’s Retreat is an original coastal cottage that’s been lovingly updated over the years. Because of its age and seaside foundation, the floors have a slight slope in places, something longtime beach cottages are famous for! We like to think of it as a little extra character and proof you’re staying in a true island original.

Amazing place, very short walk to the beach, handicap beach access, crosswalk over road, walking path a few blocks away. Our dog dug out of the back gate twice and the neighbors caught him put him back and even fixed his holes, amazing home, amazing neighbors!! Screen porch at the beach and cold AC inside, older home so lots of character! We loved our stay and will look for availability in the future. House is technically not handicapped accessible but without an elevator at the beach the one step porch is almost as close as it gets, side note for families of special needs wheelchair kiddos.

We were so pleased upon arriving at“Sammie’s Place” last week. It was so clean and even exceeded the description on the listing. The kitchen appliances we wonderful and the front and back porches so nice. Mr Kitts was so quick to respond and was an excellent host. Would definitely stay again!

Wonderful house in a great location!

We enjoyed Sammie’s retreat. The house is very comfortable and is in a perfect location one block from the beach. The screened front porch was great and the backyard is perfect for pets. Great communication with he host. Highly recommend!

Great Location

The house is in a great location and just a short walk to the beach. Our dog loved the fenced in yard. We enjoyed spending time as a family playing the provided board games as well as corn hole. Host was tentative and responded swiftly. The kitchen table had crayon and sand on it when we arrived which was easily cleaned with a Lysol wipe. The floors are slanted in some areas and the window AC unit is very loud in the back bedroom. Overall good house, would stay again.

Pictures is not accurate

This was our very first trip to Carolina Beach and we absolutely fell in love with the beach and the people ❤ We were very disappointed with the way the place looked when we pulled up the grass was as tall as our knees😥 Thought at first we were at the wrong place but no, this was the address. It also shows a screened in porch which I would have enjoyed if it had not had one section torn out. The back porch is just nasty!  The beds look awful and we didn't even use them!Jeff who is the host was not any help with getting on WiFi, nothing would work not the user name or password we tried everything and he finally quit responding, My husband looked around found a power strip in the back bedroom that had been turned off. Also he does not respond to questions quickly. I would never reccomend this property

Family time

We had an absolutely wonderful time. The location of this home was perfect. The fenced in yard for our dog was amazing. It was nice not to have to put my dog on a leash to walk them to go to the bathroom or just to keep them outside for a little while. The fenced in yard was wonderful for anybody that has animals.

Great Location, Has Everything You Need

We had a great time in this house that is perfectly located close to the beach access and has what you need for your stay. The beds and living areas were comfy. We love staying in older "Rustic" cabins so most nuances dont bother us. However, this home should have some repairs made to make it worth the money to stay here. It would appear that there are some issues that are causing the floors to buckle in areas. The laminate and ceramic tile are beyond the end of their life and the back door would often not open due to the immense swelling. The Window AC unit in the back bedroom needs to be replaced as it is so loud its hard to sleep with it on, but too hot in the house to turn it off. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but minor repairs will make this house worth the money and I would want to know these things prior to booking.
