New! Soak in a Hot Tub at this Romantic Tree House Surrounded by Trees

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway and off-grid space. Prepare to enjoy a scenic drive through the Carmel-Valley vineyards as you escape up to the mountain. You will be surrounded by mountains and trees in the heart of Los Padres National Forrest.

This space is great for a quiet weekend away from the city, from which you can explore Carmel Valley, Monterey and other local spots, or a peaceful artist retreat.

This is a guest studio up in Los Padres National Forest. The main home sits 30 ft above this space and may be occupied during your stay.

You have private access to the deck and spa that sit below the tree house which are for your exclusive use.

Guests have access to the deck and hot tub that sit below this home. There is NO POOL access or any areas above the this home.

-Make sure to bring all your needed groceries and beverages as you are a 15-20 minute drive from Carmel Valley Village and there are no grocery stores nearby. I provide basics like salt, pepper, olive oil, sugar, creamer and Keurig coffee pods.

-Guests will have no cell service on our property but you can connect to wifi to enable wifi calling and text messaging.

-WIFI: is good for text and emails. Do not expect to be able to download movies very fast or other data. Do not expect to work fully from your computers--expect to unwind and relax. If you need to work, I recommend driving down to the village and hooking up to faster wifi at a coffee shop. For now, satellite internet is the fasters option up here. I am waiting for Star Link to release its new satellite internet so that I can subscribe.

-I have ATT and can receive phone calls at the entrance of the home and on the other side of the pool by the shed.

-GPS will take you past our entrance because our location is not accurately marked. Please follow my picture check-in instructions.

-Our property is 8 miles (15-20 minutes) from Carmel Valley Village. The drive is on narrow, winding country roads which are dark at night. Plan to arrive during daylight if it is your first time at the property. Please do not plan to travel into town to restaurants or weddings for heavy drinking and expect to drive back to the home safely. Drive safely and use pull out spots to pull over if locals are driving faster behind you.
***ALTERNATIVE route: keep driving on Carmel Valley Rd toward Tassajara Rd and then onto Cachagua Rd.

-Bring your camera to snap some nature shots, or better yet, just be in the moment.

-My gardener will be on-sight to do grounds maintenance every Thursday, his name is Chevo!

-The main home up above may be occupied during your stay.

The ultimate privacy was fantastic. Those looking for a quiet romantic getaway from city noise and light pollution this is the place to be. The private hot tub with a beautiful star studded view was amazing and the epitome or relaxation. Highly recommend bringing your food and drink to avoided having to drive back and forth and maximize your stay in this cute little romantic slice of paradise.

DO NOT STAY HERE

On the day of our stay, we intended to arrive at 4PM to check in before dinner. Unfortunately, we had car trouble and couldn't arrive before dinner, so we drove directly from dinner to here. I felt confident because we had printed out the directions they provided and had multiple navigation methods. Unfortunately, their house was not where they indicated it would be. After driving a full TWO MILES past the directions they gave - in the dark, pulling into multiple incorrect driveways on the way - we think we got to the right place, and we saw signs for where to park. However, after parking, there were no signs showing where to go. We saw a primary house - which we knew was not the place we were supposed to stay - and absolutely did not feel comfortable knocking on the door of a strange home at - by this time - about 10PM at night. The directions said that we could find our place by the pool, but we saw absolutely NO POOL, nor any safe path to walk on. At that time of night, even with signs suggesting we were in the right place, I wasn't about to go knocking on a stranger's door. There ABSOLUTELY should have been lights to show where to go. There wasn't even a path to walk on, other than the driveway that led to the house or back to the road. Remember: no service out there. After explaining that the directions were TWO MILES off and that we had tried to stay there, they offered absolutely nothing. No partial refund. No acknowledgement that their directions are just wrong.

The place is hard to find. Like near impossible if you cant reason out half information. Its like they give you half the required information. I guess there's supposed to be check in instructions they are supposed to send you, with pictures and more precise directions.... I never got them. Contacter onwer through app the day prior and got no response. Gardner lives on site... wierd vibe. I checked in went to buy groceries. Owner was texting within 10 minutes telling me the gardener reported me for leaving the door open and hot tube uncovered. The guy didnt respond to requests for check instructions the night prior... but is on my ass the second the gardner spies me. Like the dude had to be all up in it the second I left. Weird vibe...like you're being watched. Wifi. It was an open network the first night. Second night I am in the middle of a movie. The wifi goes out. Someone had changed it from open to secure network. I used the code on wall but it didnt work. I messaged owner for the proper code. All he wanted to know about was the status of the hot tube. Told me to re-enter the same code that was on the board. Like okay dude, why do I feel like you're a crap host and your gardner is messing with me? Like someone literary just locked me out of wifi. There are better options in the area... I would not return.

Fantastic

Couldn’t have had a better experience staying in the tree house. The views in route to the house are stunning. The view at the home is beautiful! Enjoyed every minute. The owners were super accommodating and have everything you could possibly need while staying in their home. We listened to the directions regarding downloading as you lose service and that made a huge difference. Again, absolutely loved this home!

Overall great property, amenities, and views. Would recommend to other guests. Only feedback was that the treehouse was a little difficult to find after parking, we weren’t sure if it was through the shed or if we had to walk past the white gas tank but we figured it out after a little searching

If you are into adventure this property delivers. It’s certainly rustic, but it’s comfortable. Set up high on the side of a hill it provides beautiful views of the Carmel Valley. The property is 40 minutes from Carmel-by-the-sea and I wouldn’t suggest driving to it at night as there’s a windy road with altitude to get to it. We enjoyed the stay and would recommend to others if you are in to adventure.
