« We loved staying in Chuck and Diane's place. I loved that they gave us bikes and welcomed us with a beautiful card and chocolates and a fully stocked kitchen. It made us feel like we were really connecting to the Carmel world. Great location and not too busy. Not a stand-alone mini house like a lot of places that we've stayed but a completely private section of the house. Felt like staying at an extended family member's home. I'm in love with Carmel and happy to feel like I was connected there. »

« Our family had a great time. Walk to the beach is short (5 min) and the backyard outdoor space was enjoyable as well. Drive to downtown also 5 min. Really nice location and the house was super clean. »

« Having lived in Carmel Valley for over 30 years and on the Monterey Peninsula for 56 I knew this would be the best location for our trip. « Great smaller home. Recently updated and was done very well. Very narrow garage door opening, but would work for most any type vehicle. Quiet neighborhood but not within walking distance of most anything. Great back yard with picknick table and nice lighting. It is a short drive to grocery stores and casual dinning. Also short drive to beach and fisherman's wharf and to the aquarium. »

« Well appointed cottage in Seaside, less than a mile from beautiful urban walking trails & ocean/beach access. Easy drive to Monterey as well. Found tons of delicious local eateries too. Had some trouble accessing property upon arrival, perhaps because we were 30 minutes early or because our welcome email had the incorrect code. Instructions were a little unclear, you have to use the back door. Property management company answered promptly and we got an updated code very quickly. Minor feedback...

« We couldn't have been happier with our stay in Pacific Grove. Vivian is a great host, very accommodating and quick to answer any questions. The house was perfect for our needs. It has a well stocked kitchen, an area I could work remotely from, beautifully landscaped yard, and its in a great neighborhood just a few minutes drive to the beach. In addition to this, it was great being able to bring our dog with us for our stay. Would recommend this home for anyone looking to get away. »

« The only great thing about this listing were the beds. It was next to the main road entering Carmel so it is noisy and the property is actually not a home (this site is called vacation rentals by owners, right?) it is a run down inn. The bathroom has not been renovated in ages and the drain let off a sulphur scent that could be smelled in the bedroom. The description mentions an outdoor terrace but it is just an unappealing space off the parking space. »

« We really enjoyed our stay at this cottage. Everything was clean and comfortable. In my opinion the highlights were the fireplace and the garden. The kitchen was also great, wish we had stayed longer so we could’ve cooked in it. Would definitely stay again if we ever return to Carmel by the sea, which we hope to do one day! »

« The view alone is worth staying here. We had both back doors open any time we were there. The layout is perfect for enjoying the sound of the waves and the view of the sunset. « If the Whalers Cottage isn’t the definition of the word “CHILL!”, then I don’t know what else it could be! The soothing sounds of the ocean, crackling fireplace and solitude are outstanding and re-energizing! A fantastic place to come and decompress for couples or the family!
