  • Get away to the Maine outdoors at this house with a view in Caratunk, Maine! Located on a quiet road right off of Route 201 and one tenth mile from the Caratunk Boat Launch on Wyman Lake. The property offers privacy for your Maine getaway. Includes a space to store canoes and kayaks during your stay.

    Property includes free Wifi access. TV streaming services have guest accounts for indoor entertainment. While the main room includes a wood stove, it is not intended for guest use. The house thermostats keep the place cozy.

    One vehicle can be stored in front of the house. Additional vehicles park on the opposite side of the road. 2 bedrooms located on the first floor. Towels and linens provided. Washer / Dryer located in the basement. We hope you can enjoy your visit here as much as we do.

Perfect place to be able to take a trip with your pets! Close enough to plenty of places with things to do and getting dinner. I’d love to go back in the fall.

Beautfiul spot with great amenaties. Owner was cery kind and easy to get ahold of if needed. Despite being a little farther out in the woodsy area there is a great shopping mart within 15 minutes drive of the spot which was extremely convenient. Wonderful time, will definitely be booking again in the future.

This is a wonderful cabin in a peaceful town. It was restful and very inviting. Very pet friendly and accommodating. Had the best week! Lots of great hiking and exploring.

Cute cozy cabin

Great place for a little get-a-way. Nice private location. No WIFI available so that made it a little inconvenient but overall a nice place to stay.

The host was easy to communicate with and provided great information about the property. We were able to bring our 3 dogs and there was room for their crates which was great. The screened deck was great to hang out in on the evening.The property was close to a number of hikes that we had planned including the Appalachian Trail and it was close to the Kennebec river as well. The river was running too warm over the weekend for my husband to go fishing so we would love to come back again to do some fishing! For those of you who like the water there was a couple of spots along rt 201 that you can get down to the river on foot and if you have a boat the public launch was also along rt 201.Would love to come back again it was a cozy property, perfect location for us to explore The Forks and surrounding areas. We appreciated the amenities available in the property and the grounds were well kept.

We had a wonderful time at the cabin! Plenty of room for our family (us parents and our three teenagers) to spread out, and we had everything we needed to make our own meals in the kitchen. Loved sitting on the porch in the morning with our tea and watching the world wake up! Excellent home base for white water rafting in the area - would stay here again.

Had a lovely time relaxing and connecting. The home was very clean, warm and cozy. Had everything we needed. We lucked out with a beautiful day to hike Moxie Falls and explore the area. Definitely would go back! Thanks for sharing your home!

Winter Wonderland

We had a wonderful time staying along the beautiful Kennebec River. Chris was very punctual with his thoughtful responses to my questions before and during our stay. If you're thinking about visiting in the winter, my only recommendation would be to come with good winter tires or AWD/4WD. The drive is fairly steep and although very well maintained by the plowing contractor, it is tricky when covered in 6". Gorgeous area, we will be back!

A Peaceful Vacay

We decided to go away for Christmas for the first time and I am so happy we chose this adorable home to stay in. The home is out in an area that is not very populated which was so nice. There isn't any Internet which was not an issue for us, although two of us also had no cell service while the other two did. The home is exactly as shown in the pictures which I can say from experience does not always happen lol. I would definitely recommend if you want to just get away from it all.

A nice option to stay for rafting

It was a nice place to stay for a couple of nights and it was a good value. The check in instructions were confusing but we figured it out eventually. The kitchen (particularly the fridge) was not cleaned before our stay, so I had to spend the first 10-15 minutes cleaning, which was annoying. There were a few weird things-- I had to empty the dryer in order to do a load of wash, there was a bunch of random food in the fridge/freezer. Everything else was fine, beds were comfortable and there was a good amount of space for our family of 5. The view was beautiful and it was close to rafting and some very pretty waterfalls.

The owner was very receptive and accommodating when we needed to adjust the dates of our stay. The location was perfect as we were attending a wedding 1/2 a mile away! We had everything we needed as far as kitchen needs and linens, the space suited us well and the beds were comfortable. There were some cobwebs and mouse droppings which I would expect if the place had not been occupied for a while but it had been rented just days before us. The biggest issue though was that there was an overpowering petroleum/kerosene type smell that was coming from the basement. It was nauseating at times, even with the windows open. Had it not been for that, the stay would have been much more enjoyable.

Great location and cozy, rustic cabin!We had a great stay at this cabin—it was in a good location, really close to everything we planned to do. The house has partial views of the lake and easy access to it, with a restaurant and coffee shop just a short drive away. The cabin itself is super cozy, with warm wood interiors and thoughtful decor that made it feel very welcoming. It would have made our stay better if there was a fire pit or space to have a campfire to relax by. Theres also no use of the wood stove inside, although being summer we wouldn't have used it anyway. If we were staying in the colder months that’s a must! The only downside was that the house wasn’t left very clean by the previous guests, so we had to tidy up a bit when we arrived. We did book last-minute, though, so that might have been a factor.Overall, we’d definitely recommend this place to others looking for a peaceful and well-located getaway.
