Elegantly crafted apartment in the heart of New Acton offers comfort and style on the 10th floor of the award-winning and eco-friendly `Nishi` building. A CBD within itself, the New Acton cultural and cinema precinct boasts its own cinema, art gallery, salon, and the best in Canberra’s cafés, nightlife and dining. If you wish to venture outside the confines of the precinct, Floriade (Sept-Oct), ANU, Parliament House & many tourist attractions are all within walking distance.
You have exclusive access to the apartment during your stay. There is a key lockbox for self check-in and check-out, and your own dedicated underground car park is adjacent to lifts, which take you to the 10th floor where the apartment is located.
The Nishi Building has an energy efficiency rating of 8, with a solar passive design, cross ventilation and thermal mass insulation. These features keep the apartment cool in Summer without the need for unnatural air conditioning! Even the apartment’s heating is rarely needed, except on those particularly chilly Canberra winter nights.
BEDROOM:
This studio-type apartment has a queen-sized Murphy bed topped with fresh linen that is professionally cleaned and pressed for your stay. There is ample wardrobe space for your luggage, including hangers for your clothing (cupboard on both sides of the bed as at the front entry way). There is also a pedestal fan provided for your convenience.
Canberra can be pretty cold in our winter months and our heater is energy efficient which means it can take some time to heat up! Please make sure that the switch on the wall labeled ‘heat’ is turned on and you turn the knob on the heater to the desired heat setting (0-5). It may take a few hours to reach the desired setting!
Please be mindful of the use of appliances. As much as possible, do not use appliances all at the same as it will cause the power to trip and possible error in usage. :)
BATHROOM:
The bathroom includes a heated towel rail and is stocked with towels, toilet paper, body wash and shampoo.
KITCHEN:
The kitchen is equipped with:
- fridge/freezer
- gas stovetop
- oven
- microwave
- dishwasher
- plates, mugs, glasses, and utensils
- cooking pots and pans
- basic cooking and cleaning items, including salt and pepper, olive oil and dishwashing powder
We stock a simple selection of food for breakfast such as milk, coffee and tea. Guests will need to purchase food items for longer stays.
LIVING ROOM:
The living room has a comfortable couch and a 4K Ultra HD LED TV that you can use to access your Netflix and YouTube accounts. It also has access to local channels. Note that we don`t provide Netflix, YouTube and other online streaming platforms subscriptions so you will have to use your own account. The apartment is also equipped with unlimited WIFI via the NBN for quick and easy access to the internet.
LAUNDRY AREA:
The apartment has its own washing machine and dryer, as well as an iron and ironing board.
BALCONY:
A comfortable outdoor setting allows you to sit back and enjoy the amazing panoramic views across the lake to Parliament House, the High Court, the National Museum and beyond to the mountains.
COMMON AREA:
Due to the pandemic, common areas may be closed without prior notice. Please refer to the updated guidelines and announcements in the premises at the time of your arrival.
There is a large fireplace in Nishi’s lobby, where you can relax with a good book and a glass of Canberra red.
PARKING:
The parking garage can fit up to 1 car.
Please note: If you will park a 4WD or large vehicle, it will be difficult to park especially if when someone is in the space next to yours was almost impossible.
Check in information will be sent two days before your check in date and any codes will be sent four hours before your arrival, to prevent fraudulent bookings. There is a key safe for self-check-in.
Only 1 guest key set is provided. Please take care not to lose the keys as their replacement will incur a fee. Losing the keys or leaving it inside the apartment will incur a minimum of $355 charge

The Nishi building has so much to offer. The Makeshift cafe downstairs is not only cool and quirky but has some of the best coffee around. Monster Kitchen and Bar has incredible food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Be sure to book, it’s very popular :)
Parlour Bar is a cosy dining alternative only one minute`s walk away. Located in the historic heritage listed building that was once Hotel Acton, Parlour offers lunch, dinner, snacks and amazing cocktails, wines and beers. You can dine in or take pre-prepared meals (with wine or beer) back to the apartment to enjoy with the amazing lake views.
The Palace Electric Cinema is just downstairs and has everything you need for your movie watching experience.
Tourist attractions nearby include Questacon, the National Museum, the National Library and Floriade (September to October) which are all within walking distance.
The motorway can be very busy especially on regular business hours. Close the sliding doors to help reduce the motorway noise.
Any violation of our no-party rule will result in a $2000 non-negotiable penalty, in addition to any damages.
Please do not flush wet wipes, paper towels, or sanitary products. These cause blockages in the sewer system. Dispose in the bin provided.
