« Excellent rental property in a fantastic location for exploring the Lunenberg area. Beds were extremely comfortable, bathroom was spacious, and the sun deck was fantastic. The owner really takes pride in this property, and it shows in all the little and thoughtful attentions to detail. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely stay again. »

« Oh, wow! Kinda felt like we were in a Vrbo ad… The house is a beautifully renovated old home just across from the water, and a couple hundred yards from the beach. Beds were luxurious, bookcases of interesting books. The neighbourhood is of older, well looked after houses on a quiet cul de sac on the ocean. Couldn’t be better. »

« The Mahone Bay Beach House was the perfect place to start our vacation in Nova Scotia. It is an easy drive from Halifax Airport and immediately welcomed us in to relax on the deck, inhale the fresh coastal air and take in the sounds of the birds and boats in the harbour. The house is just as advertised with all the amenities available and a nice cheery decor. The master bedroom has a terrific view over the water. After a short sunny nap on the deck we walked down the street and had a nice dinner...

« The Overlook was the perfect spot to explore and enjoy the beauty of the southern shore and lighthouse trail. The house itself was incredibly comfortable and well appointed, with a beautiful view of the shore. Our host was welcoming and quick to respond to any questions we had. All in all, a great place to relax and enjoy nature. »

« Our family of 6 stayed here for a week. We used the house as both a place to relax and as a jumping off point to do other activities in Nova Scotia. We loved it here. We enjoyed numerous outings on Ponhook Lake in the canoes, kayaks and stand up paddleboard provided by the owner. The house is beautiful, clean and very well kept up. The location is stunning, with the beautiful Ponhook lake in a wilderness setting with endless opportunities for exploration. A perfect place to stay if you want to...

« The property was stunning and the hosts amazing. It lacked a number of things that make life comfortable such as curtains (we were up with the sun), a place to unpack or even put a suitcase other than the floor, end tables and reading lamps, microwave etc. To be fair there was no microwave listed so it's on me that I didn't notice. Fabulous house and amazing views though »

« Overall we had a great stay and the owner was quick to respond and even took the time to meet up. The property has a couple of really nice decks and it seems the prevailing wind is towards the house which has a nice cooling effect, and will push boats back towards shore in case legs are tired. Many sights are within 25-60 driving if the property. Cleaning could have been better and the lack of wi-if (was not listed as amenity, but we felt it’s a normal expectation nowadays) was disappointing...

« Very warm welcome. Wonderful site, with a great view on the lake. Huge terrace, well appointed: sunbeds, BBQ, table for the meal, and veranda to protect us from the bad weather and mosquitoes. Well-equipped kitchen. The only drawback: the last part of the unpaved access road to the house, very damaged and difficult for a berline. »

« We recently had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful property for 2 weeks in late April 2024. Our goal was to get away and enjoy some peace and quiet. The weather was fantastic, don't be afraid to visit in April, the days were sunny and cool, and when it rained the house was a sanctuary, with a wood stove and 360 degree windows to enjoy the view of the ocean, sunset and sunrise unobstructed by other properties. Perfect to read, play games and cook. Our host Mont, was so helpful, always...
