Maison Cambridge de luxe 2 chambres | Jacuzzi & billard

  • Pull onto your own driveway, drop your bags, and step into a spacious family home with a private garden, hot tub, pool table and table tennis — right in the heart of Cambridge's coolest neighbourhood..!

Park up, settle in, and let the kids loose in the garden while you pour a drink and run the hot tub. This is the kind of Cambridge stay that's almost impossible to find — a proper home with proper space, just minutes from the city centre by bike.

An absolutely wonderful home for families and groups who want room to breathe — and a base that genuinely feels like a holiday, not a hotel.

Set in Romsey Town — Cambridge's friendliest residential neighbourhood, beloved for its Mill Road independents, brunch spots and community feel — the whole house is bright and beautifully styled with crisp whites, warm terracotta and rust accents, and calming teal blues, finished with grey wood-effect flooring throughout.

Step in via the welcoming hallway with a downstairs WC — a small thing that makes a big difference for families.

There's plenty of space to relax and unwind in the bright living room — sink into the sofa beside the feature fireplace, watch a Netflix movie on the Smart TV, or open up the conservatory doors for that indoor-outdoor flow on warm days..!

The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped for proper home cooking — oven, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, and all the essentials. It flows seamlessly through to the bright conservatory dining area with a 6-seater dining table that doubles as a pool table and table tennis table — dinner one minute, family tournaments the next..!

The master bedroom upstairs is calm and inviting, with a comfortable zip-and-link super king that splits into twin singles dressed in fresh white linens, soft styling and plenty of storage for a proper night's sleep.

The second bedroom is also set up as a zip-and-link super king that splits into twin singles — perfect for kids sharing or two adults who'd rather not — with teal and gold styling and statement wall art.

The family bathroom upstairs has a bath with shower over, a stylish grey vanity unit, and marble-effect tiling — bright and fresh, plus a separate W/C off the hall — no morning queues for this group.

A comfortable double sofa bed in the living room means you can sleep an additional two guests in comfort, bringing the total capacity to six..!

    And then there's the garden..!

Step out the back to a huge fully-enclosed garden — the rare luxury that makes this a true family escape:
    • Private hot tub under a covered gazebo — perfect for evening soaks, rain or shine.
    • Rattan outdoor seating area for morning coffee and evening drinks.
    • Fully fenced and secure, with plenty of room for children to play.

Plus a dining area that converts into your own dedicated games room

A space featuring the convertible pool/table tennis setup — a properly playful addition that turns rainy afternoons into the highlight of the trip..!

Towels, hairdryers, toiletries, tea, coffee, semi-skimmed milk and delicious biscuits are all provided so you can settle in from the moment you arrive.

Our Cambridge home sits in Romsey Town — one of the city's most loved neighbourhoods and the locals' favourite for good reason. A quiet residential street just moments from Mill Road, Cambridge's famous food and independent culture scene, where you'll find some of the best brunch spots, bakeries, specialty coffee, bookshops and restaurants the city has to offer.

Cambridge's historic centre, Colleges and The Backs are an easy 20-minute walk, 5–10 minute cycle, or short drive away — the perfect balance of a calm residential base with everything the city is famous for on your doorstep.

You're also within a short walk of Romsey Recreation Ground and Coldham's Common for green space and dog walks, and Cambridge Train Station for fast trains down to London King's Cross.

It's a genuinely wonderful base for Cambridge — the calm of a residential neighbourhood with the energy of Mill Road on your doorstep. You can explore on foot, cycle like the locals, or drive in without worrying about where to park — your private driveway is waiting for you.

    Arrival by car:
Head straight to the property — your private gravel driveway has secure parking for two vehicles, a genuine luxury in a city where central parking is famously difficult and expensive.

    Arrival by train:
From Cambridge Train Station, it's a 10–15 minute walk, a 5-minute cycle, or a quick taxi ride to the property. Fast trains run directly to London King's Cross (approx. 50 minutes) and London Liverpool Street (approx. 75 minutes).

    Arrival by air:
Stansted Airport is approximately a 45-minute drive, and Luton Airport is approximately a 60-minute drive. Both are well connected by rail and coach if you prefer not to drive.

The best way to get around Cambridge is by bike or on foot, but here are the easy options for when needed.

    Cycling:
Cambridge is one of the UK's most cycle-friendly cities, and cycling from Romsey Town into the historic centre takes just 5–10 minutes along dedicated cycle paths. Bike hire is available throughout the city — Rutland Cycling and Station Cycles are both reliable local options.

    Walking:
Roughly 20–25 minutes into the historic centre — a pleasant walk through residential streets and along the river.

Driving into the centre: Central Cambridge parking is famously limited and expensive. If you do drive in, Grand Arcade, Grafton Centre, and Park Street car parks are the main central options. Park & Ride services from Madingley Road and Trumpington are a cheaper alternative that drop you right into the centre.

    Taxi:
Local taxi companies are reliable and quick for airport transfers, nights out, or when the weather turns.
    • Panther Taxis
    • A1 Cabco
    • Camtax

    Bus:
Frequent bus routes along Mill Road and the surrounding streets run into the city centre and out to the main attractions. Stagecoach East operates most local routes — check their website or the Stagecoach Bus app for live times.

    Punting on the River Cam:
Cambridge's most famous activity. Chauffeured and self-hire punts run along The Backs past King's, Trinity and St John's Colleges. Scudamore's and Let's Go Punting are both well-reviewed operators — book ahead in peak season.

    A note on the property:
This is a two-storey house with stairs to the upper floor, set over ground and first floor levels with a downstairs WC and an upstairs family bathroom. Guests will need to be comfortable with stairs.

    • Amenities: The property is professionally cleaned and inspected before your arrival. Fresh linen, towels, and essentials are provided for your stay.

    • Safety: The property is equipped with a smoke alarm, carbon monoxide detector, fire extinguisher, and a first aid kit.

    • Security: For your safety and security, the property is equipped with external security cameras and internal noise monitoring devices. This device only monitors decibel levels and does not record audio.

Les points forts : Propreté, arrivée, emplacement
The house presented well and looked as it did in the pictures. It was clean and nice and spacious. Finding the digital key pad to get in the house in the dark was a challenge, it needs a porch light as you can't see it as its black. Also I had a few difficulties with the property. The jacuzzi was empty of water and their was a boiler issue. The owner was responsive and with their instructions I fixed the problem. However, they were not so helpful when I asked for a small refund. Also the sofa looks lovely but is as hard as nails. Location is great and easy to access Cambridge and its private and very quiet location. Great having two parking spaces. Overall I'd give my experience a 5/10 due to the frustration over the issues.
