Rocky Mountains Base

We live on an acreage at the top of a hill that overlooks the town of Cochrane. Being at the top of the hill gives us the best view of the majestic Rocky Mountains that run along the west side of our property.

This venture became our hobby farm & we welcome any curiosity about whatever hobby we are into at the time of your visit. Honey pulling from the hive? Baby chicks hatching? Perhaps take our daughter's tour of the farm. We welcome you to come & see what we've got going on!
The space
Welcome to your 1300 sq. ft. loft! You will be able to play, entertain, dine and unwind in a large area just up the spiral staircase inside our home. Your private bedroom is called "The Library" because of it's book shelves and it's quiet location. This bedroom will provide you with the best night's sleep away from the bustling city life. It sits just off of the main living space right next to the private bathroom that has a washroom and shower. We have a large leather sectional that could be slept on. We also have a queen bed behind the couch that will sleep two children or another couple. This bed has less privacy as it is out in the open living area.

There is a large wood burning stove, TV (no cable sorry) with DVD player and some DVDs. Or you could also access your own streaming sites with our Chrome Cast. We have some board games as well for some digital free entertainment.

Things to Note:
- We are a young family and you are sharing our space. We have a 4 year old and a 1 year old. We will do our best to keep things as quiet as possible for you, however, as life happens you may hear us every so often.

- We are doing renovations on the main floor. These are being done by us and so we can ensure there will be little to no noise for your stay as we are in charge of the timelines.

We have a code lock for easy access and check in.

Our acreage has free parking just around the side of our house.

We live 3km from the town centre of Cochrane where there are many main stream and locally owned shops, restaurants and pubs to entertain you. There is a bowling alley, a river walk, playgrounds, an aquatic centre with waterslides and a very famous ice cream shop that is not to be missed! There is a lovely walk down to the townsite from our home that takes about 1.5 hours. Please ask us for the "locals" suggestions to enhance your stay!

Experience the majestic Rocky Mountains just an hour away! But staying in Cochrane means you don't have to pay the mountain prices. Glenbow Ranch, Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary and Big Hill Springs Provincial Park (currently closed) are close attractions as well.
Other things to note
Get some take out and eat it by the fireplace. Enjoy a BBQ picnic outside around a fire as you watch the sun set as it dips below the mountain skyline. We have a large "backyard" to play, exercise or just unwind!

We are on the way from Calgary to Canmore and Banff. If you need a place to stop before hand or would like to visit the mountains as a day trip we are an hour away!
