Seek & Snore Cabin near Wichita Mountains Cache ~ I Spy Wildlife Fun ~ sleeps 4
After an adventure filled day outdoors, relax in our Seek and Snore Cabin. Our grandchildren inspired us to create this "I Spy with my little eye" themed cabin which showcases some of their favorite things seen while exploring the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge.
Nestled at the foothills of the Wichita Mountains, The Lazy Buffalo offers 13 individually themed cabins and a bunkhouse. Each Cabin is uniquely decorated to capture the essence of the Wichita Mountains and the history of our hometown.
Many say that The Lazy Buffalo resembles an Old West Town. Our Cabins are similar to a classic motel layout. There are charming touches throughout the property along with modern offerings such as Wi-fi, Netflix, and the convenience of self check in.
The Seek and Snore Cabin has two queen size beds and a full bathroom with a large walk-in tiled shower accented with glass blocks. Knotty pine walls and corrugated tin are used throughout the spacious cabin. Dark stained concrete floors and tin ceilings add a rustic yet elegant touch. The cabin has a kitchenette area with a mini fridge, k cup coffee maker, microwave, along with table and chairs.
During your stay, enjoy complimentary Netflix and Wi-Fi or unplug and take in the beauty of our area. Watch as the sunsets over the plains from the long covered front porch while lounging in the wooden rockers. Southwest Oklahoma sunsets are truly worth witnessing.
Sip on a cup of coffee to get your morning started right and end your adventurous day gathered at the covered picnic area while enjoying smells from the charcoal grill. Yummy marshmallow goodness at the fire pit is a memorable way to cap off the evening or choose to relax under the stars in the back of our vintage star gazing truck, located just a short walk from the cabin.
Both kids and adults will love tossing horseshoes and playing old fashion games. Toss Frisbees at the disc golf stations, drop giant checkers to make a Connect 4, create music at our interactive music wall, or team up for some volleyball action. We are always adding new outdoor activities. Don't forget to snap some memories at The Lazy Buffalo photo ops.
Our grandkids love playing "I Spy with my little eye" when driving through the Wichita Mountains. This cabin's theme was inspired by them. Will you find all the fun animals hidden throughout the Cabin?

The property is close to Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. Beds were comfortable, refrigerator small but adequate. Spacious shower with good water pressure. Main drawback--wifi did not work for most of our stay, so if you must have it, I recommend staying elsewhere.
We had a great stay at the Lazy Buffalo. Great place for exploring the Wichita Mountains and Medicine Park. Seek n Snore cabin was so much fun. Loved having the refrigerator. Would recommend!
We had a lovely time here. It was clean and comfortable. It was close to the Wicitha Mountains Wildlife where we went hiking. The place was cute and had so much things to keep the kids busy. Thanks!
This was our second time staying here and it was a blast. 10/10 recommend. I chose this place the first time because of all the games and I had my kids. We stayed here again when my husband could join, and he loved it just as much as we did. Watching the stars, playing the games, the seek and snore room is super cute for kids!
Everything is always clean, has everything you need and they even add little things like plates/snacks. Definitely came in handy when I forgot a spoon! The complimentary coffee in the rooms was nice to have both stays as well!
Thank you for helping us make enjoyable memories with our babies!

Very cute decor, thoughtful details, comfortable room. Beds a bit soft and we sunk down in them in the middle, and the bathroom was a little small and needs better lighting over the sink to put on makeup. No place to really put bathroom stuff so it got pretty crowded. Very nice shower with the dispenser but it needs maybe a shower shelf for personal items and a towel rack next to the shower so thereâs no dripping on the floor as you try to get a towelâŠAlso, the porch lights (and sunlight) came through the blinds and made it hard to sleep bc the light was so bright. Maybe a dark curtain to help keep the light from coming in the on the sides?
We enjoyed the ambiance and outdoor amenities, stargazing area, the sounds of crickets and watching the fireflies. It is right off a road thatâs pretty quiet, as stated, but thereâs also a small bar down the road, and you could hear people outside, but it wasnât crazy loud or anything, so that was ok, but itâs also close to a major highway, (a bit down the road) and you can see cars and hear traffic noises and trucks at night. It was pretty loud sometimes even inside. Also the booming of artillery from the base I guessâŠ. Not too loud but you could hear itâŠ. I think thatâs what it wasâŠ.
Most of this canât be helped, I know, so it was not really a big deal for us, but it might be for others that are very sensitive to noise and wanting it quiet.
Itâs not exactly out in the country as I expected but itâs good enough and has that feel.
It was close to WMWR and 20 minutes from Lawton and Medicine Creek and other area attractions and had a wonderful country/western vibe and overall, It was still very relaxing to be able to hear the crickets and birds and sit in the rocking chairs, enjoying the country air and cool breeze, and stargaze. We appreciated the Seek and Snore room with all the little critters to find, (even though we were 3 adults) and the waters and snacks and welcome note with Hersheyâs kisses. Also, the fan! I donât go anywhere without one and it was nice to have that for extra air circulation at night.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the things that I mentioned werenât a big deal, but just ideas for improvement to make it just about perfect. I would stay here again just because it had such cute country charm. I think families would love all the fun and creative rooms that are so much better than a regular hotel room and was quite reasonably priced. Thank you for our relaxing stay!
Our family of 4 enjoyed our weekend getaway and stay at The Lazy Buffalo. Property was well maintained and room was clean. The only negative, which is out of the owners control, is the bar traffic late at night from down the street and the casino lights across the street. Overall, it was a great place though.
Julie has the perfect setup outside of the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. It was very clean. Bed was comfortable. Such cute decor!
A storm blew through while we were there- Julie called to check on us and give us directions to a nearby shelter.
Overall, it is an excellent place to stay, and we hope to return again!
This was everything I expected and then some! There are so many fun things to do. We never turned on the TV in our room. We disconnected from everything and enjoyed each other. Star gazing was my favorite part.
