My wife and I are seasoned travellers and are now retired. We have been all over the world and are not complainers as can be shown by our reviews that are easily verifiable on this site. Upon arrival the accommodation looked exactly as it was in the photographs. On the good side it was clean and very bright. 2 smart TVs. We had to buy a few kitchen utensils and a plate that actually fit into the microwave but almost everything else was there, bare essentials but quite workable. There were a few minor problems like lightbulbs that were burned out, a stove top that didn't work, a showerhead that was nonfunctional, no facecloths or bath mat, no iron or hair dryer... to their credit they fixed those problems within days. Now come the noise issues. They don't warn you that it's on a main artery of the city that has buses and trucks that run all night. The windows are lovely old colonial style (which makes the house very rustic & bright) but also prevents almost no noise from being blocked. What you hear while sitting on the balcony is what you hear while sitting inside the living room or bedroom. At 10 PM and 4 AM every single night the garbage trucks come to tip out the giant street bins all up and down the street in front of the building. At all hours you had people partying and coming home late at night yelling at full voice. Horns honking, alarms sounding, stereos blasting, vehicles without mufflers...There are also the resident neighbours living in the apartments above ours
