Lovely Cottage close to Otter Valley Nature reserve 2 miles from Devon beach
150 years old semi detached cottage .
Recently re-furbished to a high standard, a real home from home, with comfy beds, 2 doubles and one single. A full kitchen stocked with all the crockery and cutlery, glasses and kitchen utensils that you will need. Downstairs bathroom with bath and shower and bath and hand towels per person, separate dining room and lounge with sofas and fire.
Small courtyard with bench and bistro table & chairs.
10 minutes walk to the River Otter and the Otter Valley Nature reserve with abundant birds and Otters and Beavers .
40 minutes walk to the Sea along the River and to the town of Budleigh salterton.
Walk along the River Otter to Otterton Mill and have a lovely cream tea or delicious breakfast.
Syon Cottage is situated on the edge of the lovely village of East Budleigh, birthplace of Sir Walter Raleigh, full of chocolate box thatched houses and with a 16th century Pub named after him.
4 miles away is Sidmouth, a delightfully charming town tucked beneath red-cliffed horizons on the spectacular Jurassic Coast, it has a long promenade and many independant shops and cafes.
In the other direction 4 miles away is the town of Exmouth, start of the 95 mile long Jurassic coast- Englands first natural UNESCO world heritage site. Long sandy beach is lovely for families.
12 miles away is Exeter which is one of the most vibrant, attractive and historically interesting cities in England.
Pre-dating the arrival of the Romans in AD 50, Exeter’s history is rich and long. This is reflected in its fascinating visitor attractions including its unique Underground Passages, free Red Coat Guided Tours, magnificent Cathedral, imposing Roman wall and beautiful Quayside. Exeter is also home to the award-winning Royal Albert Memorial Museum where visitors can explore the city’s 2,000-year history under one roof!
Bicton Park Botanical Gardens is less than 2 miles . With over 64 acres to explore spanning nearly 300 years of gardening history,
Bicton Park is home to many rare and beautiful species, collected from around the world. Also soft play area for children and a 25 minute train ride around the park on 18 inch gauge railway .
Also for children and only 9 miles away is a multi-award-winning family adventure Crealy Park & Resort near Exeter in Devon home to over 60 rides and attractions, with spectacular entertainment, live shows and animals.
2 miles away situated high on the cliffs above Budleigh Salterton, East Devon Golf Club is home to the top heathland golf course in Devon.
This lovely 18 hole golf course has wonderful views and is a pleasure to play. Also close by is Woodbury Park Golf course, an 18 hole oaks and a 9 hole Acorns course and a Driving range Strike Shack.
Branscombe is one of the most picturesque of East Devon's many villages. Believed to be the longest village in the country, it sweeps down along a spectacular valley, past colourful cottages down to the sea.
27 miles away is Dartmoor National Park a vast moorland with wonderful walks and landscape. Dartmoor ponies roam its craggy landscape, defined by forests, rivers, wetlands and tors (rock formations). Trails wind through valleys with Neolithic tombs, Bronze Age stone circles and abandoned medieval farmhouses. The area is dotted with villages, including Princetown, home to Dartmoor Prison used during the Napoleonic Wars.
Beer is a picturesque village on the Jurassic Coast, famous for its limestone caves, shingle beach, and fishing boats.
Visit the Donkey Sanctuary near Seaton a tranquil corner of the Jurassic Coast where hundreds of donkeys are waiting to meet you.
