Bring the family together at The Rapids Retreat, a spacious four-season cottage on the Madawaska River in Palmer Rapids, Ontario. Designed for multi-generational families and respectful groups, the property combines the best parts of a cottage getaway: direct waterfront access, a seasonal private dock, a hot tub, outdoor gathering spaces and plenty to do indoors.

Inside, the cottage offers four bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and comfortable shared spaces for meals, games and downtime. The fully equipped kitchen includes the essentials for group cooking, while the dining area gives everyone a place to reconnect over breakfast or dinner. High-speed Wi-Fi, a Smart TV, central heating and air conditioning make the home comfortable throughout the year.

The dedicated games area is a highlight for families, with air hockey, foosball, darts and board games. A washer and dryer, extra blankets and an additional basement refrigerator make longer stays and larger grocery runs easier.

Outside, guests can enjoy river views from the BBQ balcony, relax in the private hot tub, gather around the firepit when permitted, or head to the water. Two kayaks and one canoe are included for seasonal guest use, with life jackets provided. The dock is generally removed from October through May, depending on weather and water conditions.

The cottage is located in a peaceful community and is intended for families and mature groups. It is not suitable for parties, events or disruptive gatherings. Guests must respect the maximum occupancy of 8, parking limits, quiet hours and all waterfront and hot-tub safety rules.

⇾ Strict quiet hours are from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, in accordance with local noise by-laws
⇾ Outdoor noise, music, and hot tub use must be kept minimal during these hours
⇾ These rules align with Madawaska Valley Township Noise By-law No. 2011-53.
Failure to comply may result in: Immediate termination of your stay; Additional charges and/or fines if by-law enforcement is involved

⇾ Any fines, damages, or emergency service charges resulting from misuse will be the responsibility of the guest
