Huge disappointment

The property description led reader to expect a luxurious, elegant house.This was not the case!We found 2 completely separate apartments, requiring 3 difficult locks to access.The apartments were average,with several issues.A sofa in the upstairs apartment was broken and had a huge stain on seat.Upstairs toilet did not flush and refill.Downstairs bathroom had no lock on the window into the dark alley, and the shower curtain hung from 3 hooks. Blinds on several windows were missing slats and chunks of slats, preventing privacy in the drifty neighborhood. The description mentioned "vibrant nightlife" - was this the strip club diagonally behind property? The host would not supply the address of property until the day before our rental date, citing the privacy of current renter; we realized it was because had we checked it out in person, we would have seen two separate house numbers and postal boxes 2 apartments. Such adjectives as luxurious haven, elegant, stylish retreat, luxury, style, top-of-the-line,premium,spa-like, prime location, high-quality,exquisite, ultimate in luxury living used in the online description are a broad stretch of the imagination on the part of the owners. Our family stayed the first night,as there were no hotel rooms available due to college graduation,but we left early the following morning and filed a claim with VRBO.The owners refuse to respond to us or VRBO.They did show up to unlock one apartment door and saw the sofa, toilet, etc.

Large space in bustling location

Communication prior to arrival was good. We were sent the location and access codes about a week prior to arrival. The house itself is in a very busy location not too far from stores and the interstate. It was very clean and very nicely decorated. The kitchen had almost everything you could want to cook with including multiple pots, pans and dishes. There were essentials in the kitchen as well including salt, pepper, rice and noodles. We had a fee small issues but management was quick to respond with solutions and even showed up to fix something. We had 7 adults and 5 kids in this space and everyone had room to spread out. The bedrooms all had window units as well as the living rooms. We stayed during a very hot week and this was sufficient to keep everyone comfortable. Overall we had a very wonderful stay and highly recommend this place.

Comfortable stay that is close to attractions

We mostly enjoyed our stay here, the rooms were lovely, the beds comfortable and everything that we wanted to visit (Discovery Center, Seaside Park) were within 10 min driving. There were just a couple weird things: 1) Getting into the property was tough, we couldn't get the app to work but the owners were super responsive and gave us a code over the phone. 2) Getting the doors to lock from the outside was tough, it worked maybe 50 percent of the time. That being said, perhaps if we had gotten the app to work with the help of the owner, it might have gone better. 3) Air conditioning = ac units but there were more than adequate as every room has one except for kitchens and bathrooms. 4) There were fire alarms missing in some places -- that they should just fix (seems like an easy one). Overall, we enjoyed our stay with the family and had a great time!
