The Geiseltalsee in Leipzig's New Lake District
At 18.4 km², the Geiseltalsee is the largest artificial lake in Germany. After the Geiseltal open-cast mine ceased operations in 1993 and extensive earthworks and remediation work had been completed, the lake began to be flooded in 2003. The lake has been completely flooded since 2011.

The yacht Overtime
This boat is pleasantly structured and spacious below deck with a fully equipped galley and a wet room including electric WC, washbasin and shower. If you are travelling with up to 2 adults and 2 children, the bunk in the aft offers an additional plus point. This means there is no need to convert the seats into a sleeping area in the evening. The Overtime is very well equipped, including free WiFi, hi-fi audio system with Aux In and USB connection, 32" UHD TV, an AppleTV with free media library (films, programmes, games, music archive, apps). The boat has excellent directional stability and is equipped with a Yanmar inboard engine. You can manoeuvre very easily and comfortably with the powerful bow thruster.

Around the Geiseltalsee - Three observation towers, each 14 metres high, around the lake provide an overview of the dimensions of the Geiseltalsee. You can travel around the lake in comfort on the Geiseltalexpress. If you prefer something more sporty, you can also walk, cycle or inline skate around the beautiful 28 km long tarmac path around the lake. Close to the town of Mücheln with its Marina Mücheln is the maritime harbour facility of Marina Braunsbedra, which is open to visitors every day. Braunsbedra Marina is home to the harbour information office, SSPmariTeam boat hire, the harbour office, jetties for passenger boats and restaurants.

Experience culture - The cultural city of Leipzig is close by and if you like, you can explore the historical trails of the Battle of the Nations in 1813 and discover where Schiller once stayed in Kahnsdorf. And in Ferropolis, you can experience mining history at Mad Max, Mosqhito and Medusa.
