The Neighborhood:

There’s plenty to explore around Bracknell, whether you fancy a woodland adventure, a family day out or something a little more relaxed.



One of the highlights of the area is Swinley Forest, with more than 2,600 acres of woodland to explore. It’s a fantastic spot for walking, cycling and getting out into the fresh air, with plenty of trails winding through the forest.



If you’re travelling with children, The Look Out Discovery Centre is a great day out, with more than 90 interactive activities to keep curious minds busy. Right nearby you’ll also find Coral Reef Waterworld for swimming and waterslides, or Go Ape if you fancy heading into the treetops for something a little more adventurous.



For a slower-paced afternoon, South Hill Park is well worth a visit. Wander around the landscaped gardens, lakes and woodland before stopping for a coffee, or check out what’s happening at the arts centre, which hosts theatre, cinema, live music and events throughout the year.



Bracknell town centre is also close by, with The Lexicon offering a great choice of shops, restaurants, cafés and entertainment. And if you’re planning a bigger family day out, LEGOLAND Windsor is within easy reach by car.

Getting Around:

Getting around from Mendip Road is nice and easy, even if you’re visiting without a car.



Martins Heron railway station is the closest station, around half a mile from the property, making it handy for both days out and commuting. From Martins Heron you can catch direct trains towards London Waterloo, as well as services towards Bracknell and Reading.



Bracknell railway station is also nearby, around 1.2 miles away, and is a useful option if you’re heading into Bracknell town centre or The Lexicon before jumping on a train.



For local journeys, there are bus stops very close to the house, including a Mendip Road stop, with services connecting the area with Bracknell and the surrounding neighbourhoods. The 156 service, for example, runs between the area and Bracknell Bus Station.
